Good morning and welcome to Wednesday. We were supposed to have snow and rain overnight but they were wrong again! It's a clear sunrise and quite lovely with the moon still hanging up there in the southwest.
The dogs and I spent a good afternoon fixing that quilt. I did pick out the stitching, corrected the placement of the patches and will hand stitch the block back in place. Then I can finish the machine quilting, bind it and get the darn thing outta here. Yes, I do fuss and am sort of a perfectionist in some things. I guess quilting is one of them but I'm sure not a perfectionist as far as sticking to a food plan.
Yesterday I said farewell to my little red Focus and cleared out some of my "stuff" from inside. Found 11 cents American, several water bottles, a dog dish, maps and other debris. See ... I'm not a perfectionist. My new car has been found and will be driven from Ottawa to the dealer in Smiths Falls today. Then the real fun begins and I meet my new baby.
Off to the gym with Donna and Doreen shortly. We've not been since last Wednesday so things will be a tad more difficult this morning. I'm not sure what the rest of the day will bring but am sure it will fill up with something. Life is never boring!
Hi Ruth! I'm glad you found the solution to your quilt AND that your new car is on it's way!
We're getting packed up and will head out shortly...about a 4 hour drive to our friends house. I'm taking my bike and a spaghetti squash. The guys can make their own recreational plans and I'll use the squash for my meal the night they have homemade sausages, which I found far too salty and fatty the last time we met up.
Good morning Ruth and all to follow! It's almost kinda sad to say goodbye to your car, isn't it? And I understand about the quilt....I would've had to do the same thing too. Good luck with your workout!
For the second day in a row, the alarm woke me up...I need to go to bed earlier apparently! Gratefully, today is a shorter day at work, so I hope to get a trail run in (I told the pup last night, and she's been shadowing me ever since...) and *maybe* a bit of cleaning. Or a nap? That sounds so much more attractive .
I need to get moving...I'm going to try an asparagus red cabbage salad for lunch....
I hope it's instant love between you and your new Baby, Ruth, and you two form a close bond. I can't wait to see it! I knew you'd never rest until you fixed that quilt, LOL!
It's a clear blue sky here, too, although it was supposed to be raining. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everyone is recovering at the farmhouse this morning, and no one else gets it. So far Ramsay, Susie and I have avoided it. And, yes, Twynn, it's the same virus.
I actually managed to sleep past 5:30 today (after a later than usual bedtime) and my DH (guess which "D") woke me with a "holy crap" as he bolted up, realizing he had overslept for his morning run. Darn him.
So I started laundry and might actually get a load folded before I head to the gym early today, since I'll miss my Friday workout with my mom.
DH and I leave tomorrow to drive to PA to help our oldest son apartment hunt. Yes, I did skype with both SONS and no extra husbands yesterday
So, a few last minute errands today including buying more veggies for the car. And I work from 2-6. Then skype with our son again to try to layout the apartment visit game plan. Then pack. Busy.
Good morning, everyone! It's a soggy AM out here in West Texas and we're so glad for it. Everything is still dead and burned from the fires in April/May 2011, so we're hoping to see some green in our area soon!
Ruth: Congrats on your new car! I loved trading in my little Cavalier last year from something bigger for baby, but I still miss it sometimes. Hope you had a wonderful time at the gym!
Debbie: Have a safe drive and a great visit with your friends!
Tammy: Hope your work day zooms by and you get to hit the trail later. Your lunch sounds delicious! Let us know how it works out!
Linda: Oh goodness, that virus certainly sounds nasty. Hopefully you've avoided it! Take care of yourself and don't forget your vitamin C!
Karen: Glad you got to sleep a bit later than usual and sorry your DH woke you up! Enjoy apartment hunting...I miss living in the city and looking at real estate with family/friends sometimes. It's so exciting to see what's what and imagine living there.
We got a bit of a surprise when we got home for lunch yesterday. Our roofers were already hard at work, almost half done with our new roof! That was great, but we would have appreciated a phone call so that we would have put the dogs in the house instead of leaving them out to bark all morning long. We were expecting them at the end of the week. I picked a dimensional roof and it's charcoal colored. One neighbor has already mentioned he doesn't like it, but I'm hoping he'll change his tune when we get new siding up and painted.
I'm going a bit crazy at work, trying to get everything ready for my departure. I'm coming to realize that I had no idea how much I actually do until I had to start training someone to do it. My responsibilities are being split out between several coworkers until a suitable replacement is found for me (or someone is promoted), so I'm having to make separate "manuals" for each of them. Oh well. 14 more days and I'll be done!!
As promised, here are some pics of Leilani. These were all taken in the past week and a half. She's a handful and ALL GIRL. She loves picking out clothes and shopping and she's only 8 months. Oh boy are we in for it!!
ETA: Good morning, Pearl! Yikes! Don't think I could deal with 37 right now. We're ready for the summer!!
