Default Dreaming about food

I had a weird dream last night that I was in a public building, it was someone's birthday and there were all manner of rich, sweet looking foods around me, and what grabbed my attention was a special looking chocolate slice thingy. I picked one up to start eating, when the little voice in my head said, "Wait... stop!!! That's 500 calories right there! Are you crazy! Put it down!!". So I did.

It must be very well ingrained in my mind that I'm to be conscious of what I eat, for me to not even be able to indulge in a DREAM! C'mon, it's not like I'm gonna put on weight just by dreaming about food. Weird.

Now I know I've been tight with my food & exercise, but I hope this isn't my body crying out for some chocolate/treat, because I thought I was doing really well. Maybe just a bit obsessive.

I don't normally have food-related dreams.

Anyone else had something similar?

I have! I've also had the dreams where I gorge myself with food and wake up feeling guilty! Oh it's just awful, though, when you can't even indulge in your dreams!

I wouldn't worry about "depriving" yourself and that subconscious need to feed. Keep doing what's working. I doubt it's your body. It's probably just your old self coming through.

Oh I've have food dreams, usually when in a losing phase. I'm not surprised my brain fixates on food in my sleep since I'm fairly fixated on it when awake, too, by the nature of restricting it

I had a dream I was gorging on everything. When I woke up I was totally freaked out, then realized it was only a dream. It was one of the worst nightmares I ever had.

Thanks guys, I don't feel so weird about it now. I guess it just means the habit of being 'calorie-aware' has sunk into my dream-space, which is probably not a bad thing.

Still pondering that chocolate slicey thing though... better stop though, it's making me want it now. grrr..

I have actually had dreams about eating sweets and wake up feeling sick. And when I think about whatever sweet it was I was eating, it just makes me feel sicker as if its the most disgusting food ever. Its sorta weird, but it can also be good because I usually don't crave any sweets the rest of the day.

Yeah, actually. A few days ago I dreamed about starting at a new college that had the most unrealistic campus ever, especially the cafeteria. They had walls of fresh fruit and veg, that I was really excited about, but of course what I ended up eating in my dream was a slice of cake I guess I should be glad that even in my dream it was a treat and that I looked forward to eating all the healthy food as well.
