We used to have a wild persimmon bush/tree down the road. They were just like little cherry tomatoes that made your mouth pucker up
like you would not believe if they weren't totally ripe! When ripe though they are very, very sweet...are these the kind you're eating? I've seen persimmons in the grocery store; they looked the same, just a lot bigger than the ones we used to have. After eating a few green ones as a child, though, I've never had the inclination to buy them.
