Default The big FIVE O

Today, I am at 50 lbs lost from when I started tracking my weight. (I didn't weigh when I first made the decision to turn my life around, so I've actually lost more!)

I thought I would be more excited about hitting 50 off, but you know what? Everything we say about numbers on a scale is true. Yes it was annoying to hover around 47, 48, 49, and not hit the magic 50 off. And yes, I am excited, for sure.

But for the first time, I truly truly believe that the number on the scale doesn't create or detract from my happiness at where I am now. Losing SIZES has been way more exciting, but even more than any of that-

I FEEL SO GOOD. I routinely use the stairs, and don't circle the parking lot for 5 minutes to get 3 spaces closer. I feel FIT.

I just got New Rules of Lifting for Women, because I'm really into the idea of shaping up my body, having new goals, and building some strength. I'm still keeping 140 as goal in my sig cos it's a healthy BMI but honestly, from here on out... I feel very close to where I want to be. I'm not quite there yet, but I'll know it when I see it and feel it. I feel wonderful about my diet, I don't feel deprived, I'm proud of my loss and my shape- now I just want to tweak it a little, and give myself a new challenge. If 140 is my magic number, fine, but if I get where I want to be at `150 lbs that is hunky dory to me too.

Yes I'm having a ball buying clothes, and coordinating outfits. I'm playing with makeup like I haven't in years. But the main thing is, I like the way I'm eating- I am never really hungry, I am treating my body to the vitamins and nutrients it deserves through lots of veggies & fruit and good protein. I'm enjoying REAL food, GOOD food, instead of loading up on chemicals, fat and sugar. My energy level is 300% what it used to be and while I know some of that is through the weight loss, I believe most is from eating WELL.

Oh yeah, this was supposed to be about the 50, wasn't it?

First off CONGRATS on your 50!! I just hit mine last week!! ...I too thought I would be more crazy excited about it!! but all it did is make me want to reach goal even more!!

I have to admit that I am more healthy/fit at 167 pounds than I was at 125 back in the day...I would have never worked out 6 hours a week ....or hike or bike...I was skinny fat ....lol...I am much happier now...I feel strong!!

So congrats on feeling great and feeling FIT!! YOU EARNED IT ALL!! WELL DONE
