Congratulations!!

It was seeing something exactly like that - that I'd actually lost some measurable weight on the scale after a week or so of trying - that made me realize I really *could* lose weight if I was willing to commit myself to it. Keep going - you can do this!!!!
As to other people - you can't control what they're eating, nor whether they get angry when you won't eat it, so try not to let it get to you too much. I know it can be tough; I've been there with my husband, who still finds it hard sometimes that I don't want to eat out all the time anymore. Remember that when you make a change for yourself it does have an impact on those close to you too, especially if family or social time with your loved ones has often centered around food. They'll have to learn to live with the changes you're making, but it may take them some time to adjust - just like it took you some time to get to the place where you were truly ready to make these changes for yourself.
