Smile 239.4 !

Whoo!!

The last time I tried to diet I did it for a month. I was using the alli system. I never slipped and I bought an used a stationary bike.

I didn't lose a single pound.

That was a few years ago. I started calorie counting about 5 days ago now. I'm not sure of my exact start weight. When pushed me into action was getting on a scale while on my period at Walmart and it said 252, when I was 232 7mo ago. But that was just severe bloating - I think my actual was around 244-245. Thats what I hovered around for a few days.

Well today I've been hungry and upset that family were trying to offer me fried fish from long John silvers. I actually got super upset at them and locked myself in the bathroom for a while. I did something that could of been ******ed and got on the scale. I was shocked to see 239.4 ! I wasn't expecting that until next week. Sure it's probably some water weight but it felt nice to see and renewed my bad mood a little.

I just don't get why they can't stop trying to eat stuff like that and then getting mad at me because I don't want it. it really had me down today.

Wow - I admire your will power. I have such a hard time resisting when I am offered high calorie food, but you are doing the right thing and staying on track. And you will feel so much better in the end.

Congratulations!! It was seeing something exactly like that - that I'd actually lost some measurable weight on the scale after a week or so of trying - that made me realize I really *could* lose weight if I was willing to commit myself to it. Keep going - you can do this!!!!

As to other people - you can't control what they're eating, nor whether they get angry when you won't eat it, so try not to let it get to you too much. I know it can be tough; I've been there with my husband, who still finds it hard sometimes that I don't want to eat out all the time anymore. Remember that when you make a change for yourself it does have an impact on those close to you too, especially if family or social time with your loved ones has often centered around food. They'll have to learn to live with the changes you're making, but it may take them some time to adjust - just like it took you some time to get to the place where you were truly ready to make these changes for yourself.

Congratulations again on your loss, and good luck!
