Anyone here start out counting carbs before switching over? What were your experiences? I'm really struggling finding the right lifestyle for me I want to really feel I can do this forevwe!
I did, I started out doing Atkins and was successful but I eventually found keeping track of carbs to be tedious. I changed to calorie counting which I find to be a more natural way of dietiing. No forbidden foods, much more flexible and a easier transition to maintenence. I still count calories to stay at goal.
I did Atkins several years ago. I lost weight well enough, but I remember thinking the diet worked so well because I would be starving but still be totally unwilling to consume yet another bunless hamburger or piece of cheese or omelet or green veggie. It didn't last of course. My favorite foods are pretty carb intensive, and I like being able to have them when I'm calorie counting.
Thanks guys :-) .. that's kind of the issue. Im constipated & as much as I love the craving being gone, I truly don't see myself doing it for life. Maybe ill keep my diet lower carb in general but definitely allow for higher carb items as well.
