I've managed to sneak out of the bedroom w/o waking DH....
Coffee is brewing and I'm going to jump back into the company books right away. If I could just make some progress I'd be happy. Other than that my only agenda is the pool.
petgrmr78, welcome to the beach! Congrats on your success so far!
What's going on in your neck of the woods? Stop by and chat
I just wanted to say an official "hello" to everyone as I'll be starting SBD on Monday and will likely be quite active here as I try to plough through the first two weeks on Phase 1. I've added my bio to the 2012 sticky.
I've taken my time planning it all out and my food arrives on Sunday afternoon. I order online and the store home deliver, so there's no temptation walking the aisles!
I'm so excited to start but have had to use up what I already had at home rather than throw it out and I've felt so bad eating this way when I now know what poor nutrition it all is from reading the book. Ick.
Anyway, I've planned an Indian head massage as a reward for getting through P1 and breaking this awful sugar/carb cycle I'm in once and for all. Wish me luck!
Lexxiss - Enjoy the pool! I'm jealous as it's pretty cold here at the moment and I'm suffering with chapped hands and face. Brrr.
good morning Debbie, I hope you get your books tackled! Do have an indoor pool?? (sorry, I'm nosy ) enjoy your coffee!
Today is my 14th day of Phase 1. I wonder if I was maybe a bit unrealistic as posting 7 pounds as my Feb. goal, as I am 'only' down barely 4. But I will try not to fixate on the scale numbers, as my real goal should be stated as 'smaller and tighter' and it is a huge accomplishment for me not to have any cookies, muffins, chips, etc. Long term wins, right And I do feel pretty great
have a great Friday and start to your weekend! Today's my Monday, boo
Good morning. It was a good week, but TGIF! This whole day is mine! I'm just going to sip my coffee and enjoy the quiet of this early morning before the day gets off and running.
Debbie hope you make good progress today on the books, and can enjoy the weekend up ahead.
Frankiki welcome, sounds like you got a plan, SB is a great. Wish I could order groceries and have them delivered, what a great idea.
This afternoon I am having a Colonic Irrigation, believe me I have no idea about this, but I have done research and it is suppose to be very good for a person. I am thinking positive that it will only enhance my life. I have a friend that has gone through this, and told me it has really made her feel good inside.
Then I am coming home and taking pictures of all my yarn to post on ebay, there is so much I am just tired looking at it. Then relaxing. I am so glad it is Friday, happy dance here.
Oh, and who sent the snow, there is fresh snow outside this morning, it is pretty but............
What a bunch of Early Chicks this morning! The old moon is still shining. It seems we've had a full moon all week.
Debbie, I hope you manage to make a wee bit of progress on the books today. I hate it when you feel like you are just spinning your wheels with that stuff!
Frankiki, to The Beach. It sounds like you are ready to hit Phase I with guns blazing.
Holly, 4 pounds is a perfectly respectable amount to have lost by now. We are just over a third of the way through February. Be kind to yourself.
Cottage, enjoy and relax because this time next week ...
Lots of coffee will be needed this morning as I have a busy day on the schedule starting with gym at 7:30 and then a trip to town to finally get my new glasses ordered well over a week ago. They "lost" the order - as in forgot to call me that they were ready. When there I'll do some odds and ends of shopping. Tomorrow I take off early for the big city (Ottawa) for breakfast with my son, DIL and DGD and then shopping, dinner and an overnight with my sister and crazy cousin Cathie.
Good morning Chicks. It's great that DW is now getting all real food but she's waking up hungry so I'm off to make her breakfast. Hope all those rushing out the door this morning have a good Friday! Back in a few
Congratulations to everyone finishing P1!! I have three more days left, including today. It's going to be challenging because I'll be travelling this weekend but I'm going prepared with a little cooler, I'm bringing a couple of chia puddings to combat the hotel breakfast plus a black eyed pea salad, some V8s and a few other healthy snacks. My sister is supportive and not the type to make me feel like the weirdo who brings her own food, so I think I'll be fine.
Welcome Frankiki! I have really had fun on P1, I'm supposed to start P2 on Monday but I feel so great, my energy level is incredible so I don't think I'm going to rush into anything. I want a head massage! Where do you get one?
Holly: I think 4 pounds in two weeks is great, especially if you've already been losing for a while. I like the "smaller and tighter" mentality, too.
Debbie - Does your gym offer instruction or group strength classes? That's how I learned.
Jenn - Glad to hear you are resolute! I am with you on the exercise front; still haven't done cardio in months now. Keep us posted!
petgrmr - Good for you!
frankiki - Nice to meet you!
Holly - Everyone is different and based on your stats you are not very large to begin with so that probably has something to do with it.
Linda - Enjoy your day.
chickadeee - Eek. I'll be curious for a report back.
Ruth - How frustrating about the glasses.
Cyndi - Real food - yeah!
tater - Sounds like a great plan.
I'm off to the gym soon with my mom and trainer. Then the library. This afternoon I am taking an old (both meanings of the word) friend to the doctor's office. I haven't asked why she's going yet and last time I took her we then spent hours and hours at the hospital while she had tests. I'm bringing a long book!
Must run and make breakfast so I can digest before working out...
I'm back! Took it a little longer than I expected but all is running smoothly now.
Nothing too exciting on tap around here today. It's supposed to be nice ahead of a small snow storm and cold this weekend so I want to get out for a walk. Nothing clears my brain like some fresh air.
Debbie - I've got database detail on my To Do list today. Hope I'm as productive as you are. I am easily distracted from boring tasks. Enjoy your pool trip!
Frankiki - Nice to see you jump in the Daily already It really help me stay on track when I start my day here with the Beachy Chicks
Holly - Sounds like you've done great on Phase 1. Those bigger losses are usually people with more to lose and just starting on lifestyle changes. I never lose as much as I did the first time on Phase 1 but I always feel better once I'm back on track.
Cottage - enjoy your day to yourself!
Ruth - hope your busy day is successful and not too crazy-making.
MissusTaterHead - I'd suggest a nice slow gradual transition to Phase 2. That will give you a chance to figure out what works and what doesn't for you. Sounds like you are really prepared for the weekend, so smart!
Okay, I've got a list for the day and DW's breakfast should just about be done. I'll get that flushed, get the treadmill down for her (10 minutes only!), and get myself some breakfast before the next set of chores. Happy Friday friends!
Karen, I hope you have a great workout and your day at the Dr. isn't too long! My club doesn't have any "classes" and I could hire a PT but I don't really like the "attitude" of the gal there. She's very ingrained with her "food ideas" and is pretty pushy about it. When I talked to my 2 friends yesterday they pointed out that since I'm only here 5 days every two weeks it would be more productive to develop a free weight routine I could do at home in either location. They had a suggestion for help from an ex PT from our club who now has his own gym. I think that's a great idea but it probably won't happen on this trip. It's a work in progress.
Holly - I used to have a Honda VT 250 as a student I'm hoping for around a 5lb loss over P1.
Missus - My lovely friends gave me a voucher for Neal's Yard (not sure if they are just a UK company) where they sell lots of natural remedies and toiletries, but also have a therapy room using their own blend oils etc. I have an old whiplash injury that causes awful tension in my neck, so I'm really looking forward to it!
Chickadeee - Sounds slightly scary, but I've also heard great things about it and really like the idea of an inner 'freshen up' (especially when starting a new lifestyle!) Let us know if you feel any benefits.
good evening chicks! Just feelin so good I wanted to pop in again before the thread closes for the night (just like the bar shutting for the night, lol..last call!)
petgrmr, ! I read your comment on yesterday's thread. congrats on having such a good time with Phase 1, I have too!! I work in a bakery/deli and it has been so very easy to ignore everything, after the first couple days.
Debbie - an outdoor hot spring, that is so very kewl!!!
Waisting Time - I read some of your blog, I very much identified about the typing class reminiscing! I had a very strict typing teacher also, his name was Mr. L, and he had to walk with crutches, and he would hit our legs with his crutch if our legs were outside the designated desk area, lol. And thanks for the timed typing test link! I've been visiting it often
I would love to share some of my observations during my 2 weeks Phase 1. First, I didn't think it was possible for me to do it. I truly thought I was too weak to resist the daily cookie, or pastry, muffin, let alone the 'healthier' starches like pasta or toast. But I did it!
Second..when I get hungry now, it is a 'different' feeling of hunger. NOT the roaring, empty, angry hunger I used to get. Now it's also hunger, but it's not as fierce, and I know I can wait.
I truly do feel better overall. I usually felt very good before, due to my consistent exercise, but cutting out sugar has been great for me!
