Default Thursday Beach Chat for 2/9

Happy Thursday!

It looks like a Currier & Ives picture outside this morning. We got just enough snow to make it pretty, and the roads are fine. It was the perfect storm!

I'm eager to get through today and start my weekend tomorrow. I just hope this weekend is more relaxing than last! It can get quite chaotic here with the kids living with us.

One week from today I'll be sitting in the airport, waiting for my flight to Ruth's. I can't wait!

And a week from today, I'll be getting organized to drive to Ottawa to pick you up, Linda! Hold that though over your chaotic weekend. We are getting some more snow for you before then in honour of your visit, not that it's bare around here. There has been a glorious moon the past few nights and the nights are just brilliant.

Had a good day yesterday with the new gym routine, some deskwork, some sewing and a delightful pet therapy visit at the Clinic. The dogs were in top form and really put on a silly show. I'm hoping the nursing home has re-opened today so we can do that visit this afternoon.

The scale has been cooperating lately so I've reinstated my ticker. I can confess here that I'd fallen into the habit of sipping wine in the evenings while I watched TV. Not a good habit! Diet gingerale (in moderation) and hand sewing is a better one.

Donna comes to clean today after coffee at the Diner. She brings wee Lulu the Yorki-Poo so it should be a riot. When she first suggested bring her, I was afraid I'd end up dog-sitting but the three dogs are just fine. Lulu and Jazz just play very hard and then flake out together and Disney supervises.

So on we go with Thursday. I wonder what it'll bring.

Good morning ladies :sun:

Cottage/Linda - glad you got 'just enough' snow, picturesque but clear roads is a good mix.

Ruth - glad your gym session went well and the pet therapy at the Clinic. "Lulu the Yorkie-Poo", lol! Hope the 'kids' have fun together today.

And hello to everyone else! Especially glad that the Door Handle Fairy visited MissusTaterhead yesterday

I received some Amazon gift cards for my b-day late last year; I am having fun trying to decide on some new workout dvd's. First I go to collagevideo.com and look around, then see if they're available on Amazon. Gotta keep the interest high in exercising! BTW, I have some Gilad VHS tapes that I never use anymore, if anyone is interested?

Good morning It's quiet here this morning. not so much catching up to do All my morning stuff is done and Julie is happily settled in with her morning smoothie. Yesterday we actually got all her calories from real food and she feels good today. It's nice to have forward movement again,

Cottage - No snow here, glad yours is pretty. Is it an at home weekend for you?

Ruth - Coffee and wine are the two things I refuse to give up. So far it's working out as long as I stay away from the dreaded cheese.
Have an entertaining morning

Holly - I finally spent my Amazon Christmas certificate. I do enjoy looking around imagining what I might use it for

The big excitement of the day may be a trip into the big town and my Co-op. If DW continues having another good day I really need some stuff they have. I haven't gone more than 10 miles from home since she got out but today might be the day. I suspect it will be expensive - protein powders and lots of organic veggies for juicing. Yum

Happy Thursday whatever is on your agenda

Good morning.....

Cottage, that is the kind of snow we had yesterday. The kind I love because I'm a southerner, and I can't drive in snow to save my life!! I say I'm a southerner, but actually I'm only as far south as Kentucky and it snows here every year, sometimes a lot. Still, it terrifies me.

Cyndi, I love going to the co-op--I love to play in the bulk bins! I always come home with something new. And now that the prices are going up everywhere, it seems like the prices on organic and local produce and meats at our co-op have stayed around the same, so it doesn't seem quite so expensive anymore. The last few times I've bought produce and meat at the co-op I've been really surprised at how reasonable it was.

I had a major stressful event happen yesterday (at least I interpreted it as majorly stressful). The first thing I wanted was a cigarette, but I quit smoking. Then I saw my daughter's bag of mini powdered donuts and I wanted to eat the whole bag. It really struck me as odd because I've never thought I was an emotional eater but I was sitting there with my heart pounding dying to eat those donuts. I think I was just hungry and ready to say screw it. Anyway I didn't smoke or eat the donuts, I went up and got on the exercise bike. Then I got off the exercise bike because I couldn't make myself sit still for more than five minutes, but still, it was progress.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Good Morning

I hope everyone has a great day!

Holly, duh, I didn't realize Amazon had gift cards! I hope you find your perfect exercise dvd.

Missus, great job responding to stress with a little exercise! Hope your today is better.

Cyndi, safe travels...I hope you enjoy your time away!

Linda, happy Friday!

Ruth, glad your pet therapy went well. Have fun with Lulu while Donna cleans.

Me, snow here....water aerobics next...it's fun when it's snowing we all wear winter hats. DH has an appt up the road that I'll drive him to this afternoon hoping to get some paperwork done in between.

One of my goals has been to start lifting weights. I get plenty of other exercise these days. I bravely went into the WR yesterday and they had all new equipment and I couldn't figure it out so I went to my fav recumbent bike. There were 2 buff GF's just out of Pilates. We talked and they said I should get a home routine going with 5# weights,. That made so much sense since I travel so much. I came home and started working on it.

Well that's my report for the day!

Take care everyone!

good morning,

Cottage - must be nice to have a dusting of snow. We are very dry here but its been nice for walking outside.

Holly - my DH got an amazon and it tune gift card for his birthday. It will probably take him a year to decide what he wants.

Missus - great job yesterday, you will get your reward.

Cyndi - here's to a good day to you and Julie.

Ruth - enjoy your spic and span home. Trouble giving up wine too but there is never any left during the week, only weekends.

Debbie - Do you get your hats wet. I have all the weights too now just to find them.

So, I have been doing a little research into salt. I need non-iodinzed salt for some yarn I am dyeing at a workshop on Saturday. To my surprise when I checked my table salt "Windsor" one of the ingredients is sugar.
Going to do some grocery shopping for the weekend this morning and then an afternoon of either knitting or weaving.
take care
Sophie

Hi all -

I am around and alive. Losing a serious amount of weight though from just not eating. I think it's the meds. But I am trying and everything that does go into my mouth is totally on plan. Not letting this deter me.

It had deterred exercise though - which bums me out. I find out Tuesday if I have to go in for knee surgery. Meh. I've been out of work for almost 2 weeks now and stuck in the house save for doctor visits. I am going nuts. Facebook can only hold me for so many hours

Hope all we well!
