One week in, 40 lbs to go my wedding!
Hi I'm new here. I've committed to changing my lifestyle all together, permanently, but the prompt for my lifestyle change is my upcoming wedding. I really want to look pretty in a dress but I'm 70 lbs overweight. My fiance is wonderful and only says positive things about me, but I really want to feel and look good for my big day. I've got 6-7 months to go, so I think that 40 lbs is a reasonable goal. I want to look stunning!
Additionally, I'm beginning to feel some health effects of being overweight. I fell really hard on my right knee last year and it has been really hurting lately. I read that every one pound on your body is four pounds of force on your knees! I also love sweets and have a diabetic mother, so I think now is a good time to start figuring out how to help myself before its too late.
I've started reading the Beck Diet Solution, which gives cognitive help for dieters, no matter what diet you are on. My sister and sister-in-law, who are both very fit people, swear by it. I started about a week ago and I think I've lost 1-2 lbs. My fiance and I started going to the gym a couple times a week about 2 months ago, so having that habit already in place has been a big help, but I think I need to add in a little more.
My weight has gone in and out like the tide all my life, but in the end I usually end up weighing more than before I started on whatever diet. I'm really looking for some others with good attitudes and some support to make it through this!
Talk with you soon!
