Default Monday Beach Chat for 1/23

It's MONDAY.

I'm greedy, I always want more weekend! At least it will be a mild, but drizzly, day today. And I know I'll be plenty busy at the farm. They all went skiing on Friday, then had company all weekend, so there will be ski equipment to sort out and probably a mountain of laundry. And I don't even want to think about what the playroom will look like! At least it will give me something to do and make the day fly by.

Coffee, anyone?

UGH, fill up the coffee mug. I'm not sure my day will fly by, but I'm sure there will be plenty to do.

The kids are on a 2 hour delay (will my daughter still have her field trip?). I only have one long appt on my schedule today, so it should be short. That will give me plenty of time to work out, get some errands done, and do some cleaning. We are leaving to see my mom and dad on Friday, and it doesn't look like it will be a fun trip . Food has been fabulously on plan though, and the scale has been nice to me. It hasn't been difficult either, maybe I've thrown the switch, at least temporarily?

Mmmm...more coffee...

Good morning! Cottage, thanks for starting us up. Sorry about all the stuff attached to yesterday's email. I really didn't want all that crud attached. I should have just mailed it to you.

Twynn, are you snowed in a bit? Is that why the delay? I hope your day doesn't get screwed up. I'm glad the scale is cooperating but you deserve the credit.

My scale is not cooperating but I'm attributing it to water weight from this darned sore knee. It's feeling much better this morning - I can bend it - and I am off to the gym with Donna very shortly. I'll do treadmill and upper body stuff and see how that goes. I can't get out of the habit of going three times a week.

Busy week ahead but it IS the last full week of this cold and snowy month and I have something special happening mid-January!

On we go after one more coffee,

Ruth - good for you for getting to the gym. I took a few days off myself, the party planning, etc. was kind of a time hog (and I was exhausted!). We're on delay because we had ice last night, so the roads are supposed to be a bit wicked out there. They need to keep my babies safe!

Happy Monday!

Linda, I don't want to do my own laundry, and couldn't handle doing someone else's. I hope they appreciate you a lot!

Ruth, Have fun at the gym!

Twynn, There is much discussion here about whether to send kids home during bad weather. For lots of kids, the school is a safer place than home. Of course, we never drive on icy roads. The state doesn't even own the equipment to deal with it!

I've been up since 3:30 listening to tornado sirens and watching the news. We had nasty weather move through. There was a tornado about 12 miles south of my house. I can't see outside yet to see if we had any tree damage. We may see some sunshine today. That would do wonders for my soul.

Good Morning

I'm getting ready for work, and am enjoying my coffee. Thanks, Linda. I hope your mountain of laundry gets resolved and your day passes quickly.

Chelby, I hope the worst of your storm is over and that this week is far less stressful at work.

Ruth, take care with your knee as you're working out!

Twynn, your party sounded great! Glad it was a surprise! Yippee for your food success lately!

I'd better get ready! I've been working on the details of our trip to Alaska in May. If I procrastinate much longer I won't get a mileage ticket.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

Off to the gym this morning. Then I might just do my first cardio in weeks! Yes, DH got my bike set up for me indoors yesterday. I am going to be smart about this and start with just a few minutes. See how it goes. I got engrossed in a book yesterday so was not very productive. Except I actually had the urge to clean. How odd

I haven't decided if I like the sweet potato black bean chili I made, or not. I guess I'm thrown because it's not "sweet." And I usually eat mine roasted so they are nice and sweet. Savory is throwing me. I may try a different recipe another time. If anyone has a favorite, please share

Okay... must go be productive before I head out. Have a great day, everyone. BBL.

Good morning I'm going to get this started but am waiting for phone calls so not sure how long it will take to finish

Cottage - I love busy days that fly by. It's nice to have weekends that are so good you don't want them to end. Bet the kids had a great time in the snow.

Twynn- Will be thinking of you this weekend. I hope that switch stays flipped for you. I seem to go through phases - great and really awful

Ruth - Wow, good for you sticking to the gym plan. Hope the knee doesn't give you any grief over that. I was doing upper body Saturday and insisting DW look at my muscles. I do love having visible muscles

Chel - glad you guys are safe. hope you get your sunshine today

Debbie - jealous! I'm so glad you are making the trip this year too. Hope you will have internet access though. I'd miss you

Karen- Book days are important too What are you reading?

I did it! We are hoping the speech therapist calls instead of just coming over. No reason for her to come here when we are going to the office we've been using tomorrow. If she just shows up she may find me still in my robe and PJs. I decided to post first

Happy Monday friends!

Cyndi - 1222 by Anne Holt. Set in Norway but nothing like the Larsson books.

Afternoon chicks,

I got a super late start thanks to a power outage! Oye. This insomnia is getting to me though because I didn't wake up "naturally" until 10a! Dr. prescribed something that has no effect on me (I've got a high threshold for medicine, said the doctor who performed the surgery I woke up during) but I feel so dumb telling her it's not working...

Anyway, off to the races. Will check in later tonight! Hope you all are having a fabulous Monday!

Hi Girls, I am being up the rear here being so late.

Had a good day at work, but the weather is awful, sleet, light snow and the roads are terrible. Coming home was a bit better.

Ruth good to hear the knee is improving.

Jenne hope you get some sleep. I know how that feels.

Now I have to think about dinner and off to the thumb doctor tomorrow. Hope everyone stays warm and safe.

Karen, When I made the sweet potato/black bean soup, I used leftover, already roasted sweet potatoes and canned beans. It was sweet and delicious.
