Hello, everyone.
Hi there. I'm new and would like to introduce myself.
I'm a 41 year-old male who has been struggling with weight my entire life. I have had my ups and downs over the years but as much as I lose, I wind up gaining it back.
I am currently 285lbs. In my adult life, I have been as low as 215lbs (when I was in the Military) and was muscular and looked great. As recently as two years ago, I was hovering around 230lbs and was wearing a size 36 jeans. Now, my closet is full of sizes 36, 38, 40, 42, and recently 44 sized jeans.
I am on blood pressure medication because my weight is having effects on my health (besides the obvious). I also take Prevacid each day to keep the acid reflux caused by my weight away. My cholesterol is sky high as well.
I don't remember when it got so far away from me, but I need to make drastic changes and get my health and my life back.
My wife is supportive (she is fit and trim) and has promised to help in any way she can.
I have started tracking my meals and counting what goes into my body. I'm happy I found a forum such as this because I know I'm going to need all the help and support I can get. Hunger and food have a grasp on me and I need to beat it.
Typing all that took a weight (no pun intended) off my shoulders as I am embarrassed by it all. I hope to get good advice from reading the forums so I can beat this thing. I know I'll be dead by 50 if I don't.
