Default Life In The Lifeboat 10 Days At A Time #10

O.K. Here's the next segment of 10 days in the lifeboat.

Remember this is not a "challenge" but a place for accountability to ourselves and support.

So what is your plan for this 10 day segment?

Figured I'd start the new segment.

I think I've been shirking on getting in all my water so for this segment I'm going to drink 64 oz. a day and try to stay POP on WW.

I am posting this here and in the Valentine's Day Challenge thread under Chicks for a Challenge forum.....just mentioning this for people who are on both boards that you don't waste time reading both...........

Hello! I have been absent for the past week of so. Wanted to share with you all where I am at.

At the end of November I had seen my Doctor - I mentioned to him that I was having some chest discomfort. After a discussion he let me know he wanted me to see a Cardiologist. I was terrified. Being over 300 lbs. there is always that thought in the back of my mind about what is this weight doing to my heart. I posted on 3FC that night as I couldn't sleep and received some wonderful support .

My Cardiologist appointment was yesterday. He said I have a bundle branch block (sounds worse than it is) - basically it is to do with the electrical system of my heart. He said that this could have been there since birth or it could be a result of my high blood pressure. He assured me that I should not get upset about this and that there was no need for me to make any changes to activity, etc. He encouraged me to continue on my weight loss / increased activity journey. They did a heart ultrasound and an ECG and he said he saw no cardio issues. He wants me to come back for a stress test as a precaution.

Further discussion about my chest pain - he did not see anything that would lead him to see it as a cardio issue. He questioned my exercise routine, particularly the weight training. He explored my symptoms with me and believes that I have tears in my muscle tissue caused by overdoing it with the weights. He said it is not uncommon to do damage when having been inactive for so many years. He wants me to stick to cardio and give the muscle time to heal.

So all this brings me to why I have not been all the boards - I was so scared in the week leading up to my app't that I couldn't really focus on anything else and I was scared to exercise. The good news is I didn't gain weight - I maintained at my post-Christmas weight.

So time to get back on track! Over the next 10 days my goal is to track what I eat. Make sure my water intake is 64 oz. per day and start exercising again.

Sorry for the long post

Hey ladies! Goal for this segment is to continue my success with no soda or fast food and to begin exercising. It's TOM for me and I was still down 4.2 lbs! I can't wait to see what these next 10 days bring!

Hi Ladies! I like this 10 days at a time focus. Makes it not seem so over whelming. I am going to continue like Riley...no soda or fast food. Have been drinking lots of water......and I love my ice!

Good luck everyone!

The box lunch at yesterdays meeting had many more calories than I estimated. Every bite is recorded - which is always my goal.

It was my baby girls 22nd bday and I ate cake.I did stop at one slice of the homemade ice cream cake. Still I didnt need the cake or the calories.
I plan to make this segment about recording each bite and walking. Calorie limit is 1500. Water is 6 bottles. Walking 1 mile a day.

This 10 days, keep to 1800 calories, get at least 5 servings of fruit/veg. same as before.

Yesterday was a potential minefield -- all three meals out. But I did it! I stayed on plan! My calories might have been higher, but I did no nibbling and skipped all the chips and cookies!! I didn't get enough veggies, but given the situation, I'm happy!

Same as Vortex! Day 2 was good but I JUST squeaked by!

Tomorrow will be a better day! Yay for staying dry!

So far I'm doing well with no fast food or pop! It's TOM currently and bad so no exercising yet. Looking forward to seeing bigger results next week!

Whoops, it's already day 2 but I haven't stated my goals yet.

Calories - Average 1900 day
Water - 64 oz a day
Exercise - Average 25 minutes a day or more

Already got Day One, ready for Days 2-10!

Yesterday was a great day in so many ways. DH had what should be his last surgery - pending biopsy results of course and we had a new little guy join our family - my niece's first baby.

I also got a hard 60 minute workout in the pool, food was POP and every bite was logged.

Life is good.
