Default Shoe Help

I'm looking at replacing my current shoes, my Saucony ProGrid Guide 3. I'm just wondering if I would be safe to order the Guide 4's. How much do shoes typically change from year to year?

The price difference doesn't matter too much, but I'd be lying if I said I could afford either pair right now.

However, the Guide 4s come in a snazzy orange color, lol!

But seriously...would you stick to your current version, or would you 'upgrade'?

Read reviews to see how much the shoes changed. Sometimes it's not a big change, sometimes it is.

Personally? When I like my shoes I stay in them and replace with the same exact shoe. I don't try to fix what isn't broken.

You might be able to get a good savings by going with a new pair of your current shoes, with a newer model available.

I wear a different brand (Asics) but I upgraded to a newer shoe in the same model about 6 months ago and found it to be pretty annoying. I bought them at my local running store but really the new model gets 5/5 stars with numerous reviews on sites like Zappos so I wouldn't have known going by that either. It's just the back of the new shoes mush down super easy. I put my shoes on untied, laces loose, etc, but if I don't hold the back of my shoes up with my fingers, any rubbing against them as I put them on and they completely squish down and dig into my heels, I have to take them back off and hold the backs up, etc.

Not a huge deal because they're fine once they are on, but I would have rather saved some $ and gone with something I don't have to hold up every time I put them on. I could have gone online at the time and bought the same shoe I was perfectly fine with for nearly half the price because it was an older model just being clearanced off at the time. Oh well.
