Good morning Beachers Just another day here in balmy Vermont. Such a weird winter but I am so thankful I haven't had to deal with much snow, both the driving and the clean-up.
How is your Tuesday shaping up? I'm off to pour some more coffee with chai, I needed a treat this morning
You beat me to it, Cyndi! I am sipping a mug or Irish Cream flavoured coffee. It tastes really decadent but it's made with SF syrup.
Yesterday went as planned but today will be tricky. I have a pipe leaking in the basement - it's the one that goes to the outside tap and is doing a steady drip-drip. It fills a dishpan in six hours so needs to be fixed before it gets worse and floods the basement. Grrr! This is one of the few times when I wish I had a man around here but I'll call the local plumber and see if he can get to it this morning - crossing my fingers that he can as I have that funeral and pet therapy this afternoon. There's always something, right? However this is a very minor niggle compared to what some other folks are dealing with.
Tons of work to do at my desk but the first thing to do will be tidy it and get some cheques ready for the bank deposit. "I know it's somewhere!" People send end of the year donations to the Mill and I suspect some of them are in the paper pile. I sure miss Pat who was my admin assistant for years although I don't miss working those long hours.
Good morning! Newman's Extra Dark & Bold is in my coffee mug.
I could send Jake up there to fix that leaky pipe, Ruth, and all you'd have to do is feed him as payment.
I'm so glad I don't have to worry about you doing all that driving on slippery roads, Cyndi, and I hope Julie continues to make progress.
I'm expecting a call to go in early today. Audrey was home yesterday with the same cold symptoms I had last week, and she'll probably stay home from school again today. I read to her most of the day, although I did manage to lug all the bins down from the attic and took down their tree while Audrey supervised from the couch.
Hey everyone,
Cyndi, how is Julie doing? I'm also grateful for the warm weather. I'm half optimistic we won't get super cold, half worried that we will be slammed. We'll see. Spring will certainly come eventually though!
Ruth, I'm sorry about the pipe. Plumbing problems suck. I almost wish I could take a basic class in plumbing repair so I wouldn't be phased...my husband can usually take care of most things, and if not we can reach out to our Superintendent, but it would be nice to have the confidence that I could take care of it myself.
Today: work, then tonight I have my centering prayer group which hasn't met in a couple of weeks so it will be good to get back to that. Hope everyone has a great day!
Thanks for getting us started, Cyndi! Safe travels and healing moments for you both.
Ruth, I hope your water leak gets fixed. (I still prefer calling a plumber)
Linda, I hope Audrey is feeling better today!
Matilda, great that your prayer centering group is starting back up!
I'm getting organized both for work and for our blast off to the Western Slope as soon as I return home. The kitty can stay here since we'll be back Thursday night. We wouldn't even go since we just got back but sis has several appts. there and they need the water turned on. It was so cold when we left we didn't dare leave it on even for two days.
Food has been great and I'm dropping the water weight like crazy. I'm not far from my ticker weight now. I'm back to tracking food (on livestrong) which is great for keeping me motivated to stay on track. Yay.
Good Morning and Roll Tide. I watched the game till 10:30, which is considerably past my bedtime. I hated the alarm clock this morning.
Cyndi, Hooray for clear roads!
Ruth, I wish I could send Jeff. He works for lunch, too.
Mathilda, I'm so thankful it's been unseasonably warm.
Linda, Sick kiddos are no fun!
Debbie, Have safe travels.
Our therapist was back for the first time yesterday since her knee replacement surgery. I love having her back in the office. She's absolutely one of my favorite people. But, I enjoyed not having her clients in the office.
I'm going to give my Louisiana family today to cool off before calling them. My sister said BAD words during the game last night. It was HILARIOUS. It's going to be a fun day in Alabama.
My oldest heads back to college this morning. I'm going to be a bad mom and skip the ride to the airport. After all, I have to be fair - I missed taking my other son so I could meet Jenn I'm off to yoga instead... not wanting to already break my "new exercise routine." I think we have one more warmish day here before the bottom drops out and we go to below-normal temps. So, I guess I'll think about any errands I need to run this week and get them done today. Top on the list is always stocking up on OP foods!
Chelby, congrats on your win last eve! Fortunately, all my family seems to cheer for the same teams. It simplifies our more than complicated family relationship.lol
ETA-Karen! We were just discussing dropping kids at the airport this morning! It will sure be quiet with the kids gone.
This will be a quick flyby for me, I have a call in 6 minutes.
Sounds like everyone is still doing good. I am still plugging along in Phase 1- Day 10- I feel back in control and have a game plan so I am feeling good.
Just stopping in to say hey! Things have been hectic lately - hoping to get a run in after I transport my parents' dogs from the kennel back to their house after work. The weather has been perfect for it but things have just been too crazy!
Our sweet Voodoo is still under the weather with a kidney infection. She's acting like she feels better (just finished Day 5 of antibiotics) and playing with her ball, squeaking her toys, trying to kill the bunny in the back yard, etc. However she's still peeing frequently, and we have to give her Pepcid before bed or she pukes.
There have been a lot of sleepless nights lately so the running thing hasn't really happened yet. But I have my shoes! So hopefully we'll be able to take Voo to the park this evening when I get home from running the weenie dogs around.
Is it spring yet? That would make everything much easier.
Anyway, back to work. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. Hope everyone is well!
Speaking of dogs, I think I've solved the problem of Jazz The Houdini of the Dog World. I blocked what I think was his latest escape route with a large and heavy 4" x 4" post. He and Disney The Perfect One have been out there off and on all morning and no escapes ... yet!
I did get a plumber who will be here tomorrow morning. I can cope until then.
Now off to the funeral, the frassing lunch and then Pet Therapy. I am going to avoid working with the dementia residents today as it just might be catching in my tired and weak mental state.
Hello again. Dog training went well, they really have come a long way since we started. We are using Bark Busters...anyone heard of them? It's a hefty price, with a life of the dog guarantee. So far we are overjoyed with the change in our pups!
Cyndi, strange winter here too...if you can even call it a winter. Today they high was 50. Supposed to get really cold by the weekend, though.
Ruth, of all the things our dogs do TERRIBLY...neither are escape artists...thankfully! Glad you found a solution once again.
Linda, I still read your posts wishing I had your job most days. Although, I'm sure I glorify it in my mind!
Matilda, hope the prayer group was refreshing!
Debbie, have a great trip!
Chelby, so out of touch, but I'm guessing sports? Congrats Alabama!!
Karen, hope you enjoyed yoga!
Hi, Pearl!
Lisa, so sorry to hear Voodoo is still under the weather Get well wishes headed your way. Sick pets are so sad.
Bea, same boat as me! 10 gained during my "vacation from SB"
