Hilary, it will depend on how quickly you want to lose it. Most people would tell you not to drop below 1200. At 1200 a day, you will drop like a rock most likely. How about starting at 2000 and staying there for 7 days. Then weigh (same clothing, same time of day, same scale) and see where it takes you. Adjust accordingly and remember, there are very few resources that are as good as 3FC--or at least in my experience.
Also, I would make it absolutely AS EASY as possible--don't overly complicate anything unless you know 110% that you actually ENJOY going to that much trouble. For me, I had a spiral notebook and a pencil to log my foods, calories and exercise. I measured my foods with plain old measuring spoons and measuring cups--the mismatched ones I have had for decades.
Find something you like to do that requires movement--be it handing out food at a food bank, household chores, walking, shopping or whatever.
Keep it simple. Keep it enjoyable. You will do JUST fine!
