As women, our hormones are crazy. and i know our weight reflects that. But when does our body usually "retain water" or whatever, around our period? on it? or the week before/after?... or is it different for every person?
It varies for everyone, but usually most women have a consistent pattern. I gained 5-6 about 1 day before it started, and it dropped off exactly 3 days after it ended, but you'll find out what your unique pattern is.
For me I tend to retain water a week before my period, and then it drops off during my period. I retain about 3-4 pounds.
mandalinn - I haven't been around for a while, and although you might not know me, I tend to notice your posts, and I wanted to say congratulations on your pregnancy!!! And congrats on a boy, boys are awesome.
I usually retain 5-8 pounds within three days of it starting. Two days after, i start losing the excess water weight, and by the time my period is done, i've gone back to where I was before, and have dropped a little extra
I usually start retaining water 1 day before and it's always between 2-6lbs depending on how much salt I have had in the last week or so. After that it usually drops off slowly day by day and is gone by the 4th or so day if I stay on plan. If I have a night of to much sodium or anything, then it tends to stay until the end of my period.
i start retaining whenever my cramps start thats usually a full week or more before my period ( i have weird/bad ovaries) than the 5 day period, than 2-3 days afterwards. so theres basically 2 weeks every month that its useless for me to weigh cause i have 5-8lbs or bloat
I stall out the week before my period. It's actually a more accurate predictor than my trying to remember when I last had it. I won't gain, but I'll fluctuate around the same pound or so. Then, when it arrives (or, honestly, often the day before), whoosh!.
