And I have to say (or SCREAM) that I'm FRUSTRATED!! UGHHH...I went shopping today with gift cards given to me for Christmas. OMGoodness...I've went up a size in pants...now a 24! This has GOT to STOP. Guess it's time to get off my a$$ and get in the gym....
I could just curl up in a ball and CRY...please tell me some of you feel that way!?!
I'm located in NC, if anyone is close, feel free to message me. I'm also on Facebook if any of you communicate that way too! I need someone to help me hold my feet to the fire. I'm NOT waiting til next week...this starts TODAY!
Well, Michelle, the first piece of advice from me to you is to keep those gift cards to use later! Make it a goal to not buy new clothes until your current clothes get loose. Believe me, you are going to be doing A LOT of shopping in the months to come.
Secondly, welcome to 3FC. You will find a lot of support here. And yes, when I started my journey last year I cried a lot and reached the end of my rope. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. It sounds like you may have reached that point too. And I promise you that the minute you make the decision to change your life you will become a happier person just knowing you are doing something about it.
Do you have a weight loss plan? Do you know what kind of "diet" will work best for your lifestyle?
I've tried Weight Watchers, Atkins, Calorie Counting...and honestly, I believe it's a lifestyle thing. You have to BURN more than you TAKE IN to shed the pounds.
After this post I made a promise to myself and put it in writting that I would do "something" exercise wise EVERY DAY. If it's 30 minutes on the WiiFit or Zumba for Wii. In the last week I've lost 5.3 lbs. YAYYY..it's a start!!
I am holding on to the rest of the money on the gift card for later use. I HAD to have a pair of jeans because all of mine were either too small or worn out from the 'chub rub' between the legs!! I had resulted to wearing all stretch pants and sweats. NOT GOOD!!
As a Pure Romance consultant I stand before ALL women three to four times a week and put on a "happy face"...now it's time for me to actually BE happy on the inside and show it on the outside! No doubt that this will make my sales go through the ROOF!!
I am right there with you. My second (and last) "baby" turns 3 on Monday. I had a year of steady weight loss after her birth, mostly with weight watchers. It was slow but I almost never went up. The next year and a half I stayed steady but didn't lose much. I did get a little more exercise but I had trouble with portions and snack. At least I maintained and learned that I can eat quite a bit and not go up. Well, about 6 - 9 months ago I decided I was going to lose the rest FAST and started trying out a bunch of different diets, including some very low cal. I went up and down a little bit but didn't get anywhere. It was the classic story of losing weight fast but putting in all back on, plus more, just as quickly. So now I am at my highest weight in 2 years! It is so discouraging. Moreover, I carry most of my extra weight in my belly so I look like I'm 5 months pregnant! It is so difficult. I feel like I have gotten into such a "diet" way of thinking--I am really obsessive about food and what I am going to eat next. I generally do pretty well until the late afternoon. Then my resolve just seems to go out the window!
Shell - I'm the same way. I find myself thinking what I'm going to eat for my next meal as soon as I finish one...sometimes even before. It's frustrating!! I have the most awesome boyfriend who is very supportive. He's never had a problem with weight, actually he used to be too small. He's 5'7" and around 150 lbs. He swears he could lose some, but I don't know where from!
I know that the weight was not put on overnight and it can't come off that way...just have to keep thinking positive! I'm so glad I found this forum! I don't post a lot, but I do read other people's story. Maybe I should pull up a chair and 'sit a spell' with ya'll more often!
I agree, save the gift cards. It will feel so good to go buy a smaller size that you will look and feel good in. Last year I lost 70 lbs total and then gained 20 lbs back. I think the only reason I didn't gain it all back is because I tossed all my big clothes as I lost. I would wear them tell they were literally falling off, like at work people would say uh I think you need to get some new pants. lol. But i didn't have money to buy new clothes every few months and also it felt so good to go shopping and be down several sizes instead of just one. I used to have sizes 24-14 in my closet now I have 20-14. When I started to gain again the 20's were big and I really wish I would have gotten rid of them, cause now they are snug. The one good thing is I feel them snug and I don't have anything else to go into so it helps keep me in check a bit. Good luck! I am new to these boards but in the past other message boards have really helped me.

Hey girl,
Not exactly near Salisbury. I'm in Graham, on the Burlington line.
On a side note, pants shopping is THE WORST for me too. I feel so depressed when I see a freakin 20W on my jeans when ALL of my friends are sizes 1-4 Blah One of my BFFs is 99lbs and was complaining that she had gained 2lbs. >_< I wanted to scream. Bra shopping is pretty far on the sucky scale too.
I've been dancing it out on Dance Central 1& 2 for kinect. makes you sweat like crazy.
