Default OMG...I am the largest I have ever been!

Wow, I gained 40 lbs in one year. How can that happen? It happened to me at 25. Now it happened to me at 39. I have been listening to Tony Robbins this morning and he said problems are inevitable. How do you turn them to your advantage? How do you grow through challanges? Well, I have been putting soooo much energy, money, time, stress and negative emotion into losing this weight for 2+ years that I CANNOT believe I am 3 lbs heavier than I was 2 years ago.
Whew...what is the key?
I am going to come up with a plan today and with all of my ability stick to it.
Send me your supportive thoughts and I will send them to all of you.

Weight yesterday: 189 lbs
Goal: 140 lbs

xxoo

Welcome to the forum! There is a ton of information on this forum about many different food plans. Spend time reading about them and pick one that works for your lifestyle and you can stick to long term.
I personally chose calorie counting because it was free, easy and allowed me to eat just about anything I wanted as long as it fit in my calorie range for the day.
Best of luck to you!

Thanks! I think that persistance is the key. Doing what you need to do everyday whether you feel like it or not!

I feel for you! I gained 40 pounds in less than 6 months, while not changing my diet AND I was getting exercise. My *new* doctor thinks it's a mixture of a few problems I might have compounded all together. I'm on a difficult diet, but so far it's working and I've started losing weight in the last few weeks. Have you been to a doctor?
You might have to try different things, so don't get yourself down. You sound determined and that's always a good thing.

Woo!!! Forty pounds in a year... YES... me too...

Thinking back, it was kind of hard to do it. Some days I had about 3 meals in one sitting... GROSS!!

What's the key is a great question... Me thinks, STARTING

Starting every day! We're both in the same boat, and I challenge the both of us to start and finish every day, no matter how much it hurts, and how little we care to!

If you've been trying for the last two years with no avail, you may want to try something new. If you enjoy cooking, I'd suggest the Sonoma diet, and honestly... doing those simple exercises out of COSMO, and jumping around for 10 minutes every day

So simple, yet... just enough

Welcome to the forum!

Have you tried Weight Watchers?
I've lost almost 30 pounds on it. It works if you make it work for you.
Good luck!

Wow Everybody! Thanks for the advice. I did do WW 10 years ago and lost 30lbs! I have joined 3x since then and it didn't work. They changed their system last year, so maybe I should try it again. I think I need to somehow clear my head of all the times I have tried to lose weight for the last years and failed. It makes me feel hopeless. I think it comes down to one thing for me: persistance. I keep falling off my programs after 3 mths, discouraged. The weight loss is sooooo slow now. It's always barely 1lb a week and I have to lose at least 40lbs. whew...the thought is overwhelming. I am starting my new diet today, though. I can do it!

I know exactly where you are coming from. I saw pictures of myself after a vacation in July and thought "OMG is that really me!!!" I am at my biggest ever and didn't even recognize it till I saw the pics. I also have 40 lbs to lose and understand the daunting feeling. I think Reanbean had a great point - starting every day. Sending supportive thoughts your way!
