50lbs. But, then overall, I'd like to lose between 75-100.
Anyway on another note I was wondering if anyone has had any success with any specific diet plans. Also, I recently purchased "Skinny B!t*h." Has any one read this and are there any books that any one might recommend?
Thanks!

I find calorie counting and dancing/yoga/aerobics work well for me. basically lean muscle building activities and counting calories to *hopefully* achieve a 2lb/week loss. I haven't that book though, sorry
I have read Skinny B*tch, it starts out somewhat neutral and then goes into an expose on animal cruelty and promotes veganism. It is pretty graphic too. If you are wanting to try a vegan lifestyle, then its a great book to read, otherwise I'm not quite sure it will help you.
I just do straight up calorie counting and exercise. It works for me just fine.
I have no intention on going vegan. I don't eat beef much as it is. Mostly just chicken. Thank you all. I noticed most of the beginning of my post is also missing...lol. I must have deleted it somehow. I'm not sure that I even remember what I was trying to say, more or less I was introducing myself. I am 23. I was always really skinny growing up. I'm not sure what happened but I have an appt coming up to talk to a dr about PCOS which I am nearly 100% certain I have, it would definitely explain a lot. I am now, the biggest that I have ever been. I would like to lose 50 to start and ultimately 75-100. I have my work cut out for me. And, I get very discouraged. I have tried Weight Watchers, I felt I was hungry a lot. I now count calories.
Thanks Raven. I tried vegetarianism for awhile right out of college, it didn't suit me and I didn't lose any weight. Now I just count calories and enjoy a good workout.
Oh and I noticed you were from Missouri also, Go Cards!

Hey, I read the book after becoming vegetarian. It would've turned me vegan because it sheds light on dairy products with a bit of a jagged edge. I'd also like to add that, while some vegans even gain weight (chocolate is vegan after all), studies do show (as cited by the book) that vegans and vegetarians are on average substantially healthier than carnivores.
I've been vegetarian since last August, and I credit it for my 35+ lb weight loss, which while has been a VERY SLOW process, I wasn't trying to lose weight. I go to college to study engineering as an undergrad, and during the most stressful periods like finals/midterms, my weight has been very constant. I think being vegetarian is very healthy, if a very slow weight loss process if you aren't consciously doing something else... I'd eat cakes and muffins and bagels, but no meat (no cow, chicken, pig, etc). I can't go vegan though because I don't like soymilk or tofu. Hah.
In short, for weightless purposes, vegetarianism I feel is just part of the solution. It isn't the only solution though, and all people are different. Maybe speak with your doctor and see what he recommends?

I tried the whole counting thing (calories, carbs, fat, fiber, etc.) and I'm too obsessive about it. It gets to a point I won't eat anything because I just don't want to count it or try to guess on the proper amount to document. Now I eat a strict paleo diet and intermittent fast (probably pretty low calorie some days) and the weight comes off without any real effort on my part.
