Default Hi again and a suggestion/question

I've been a semi active member mostly not because of personal things.

From what I understand, this is an amazing supportive community that strives for the health of its members.

So, can we get a section for survivors of sexual assault? I have not been diagnosed with depression, but I'm pretty sure I have ptsd. It feels weird posting in other threads because they're not quite right with the issues I face with my weight as a survivor.

I've seen a few survivors mention their assaults in passing and thankfully I haven't seen any slut shaming from this community but sometimes it's awkwardsauce when I want to post my reasoning behind actions. I.e., binge eating, bulimia, anorexia, extreme cardio, no cardio, weights, and all sorts of other things that survivors deal with when trying to simply be healthy. I'm not saying these actions are healthy but some survivors go through serious changes in their lives after assault and I'dd like to be able to address that without needing to post in Depression, Chicks with a Challenge other places.

I'm probably not expressing myself correctly. I just want a safe place for survivors to feel okay about posting on.

Sometimes mentioning my assault seems out of place but it is a very large factor in my life and my every day diet.

Anyway, that's all I wanted to say, really. I hope you understand.

I believe any forum should be based on weight loss and managing weight. That is the first criteria, We have menbers who have had every conceivable problem posting here. not against what you suggest but weight issues come first.

Not to diminish what you are saying, but sexual assault is a weight issue. One cannot lose weight successfully without first and thoroughly examining the causes behind their weight gain. Without addressing these issues, a person has a high probability of regaining their lost weight (and then some). For the chaoserenity, her weight gain and issues with weight and her body stem from her history of sexual assault. I am not sure where a thread/forum for sexual assault survivors would go in this community, but I do believe that there is a great need for one. I wish chaoserenity all the best in her continued efforts in her survival of her past and her future resolution of her weight/body issues.

I think it should be health before weight loss, sometimes those are hand in hand. Physical and sexual assault can wreck a person's health and create a mindset that encourages both drastic weight loss and gain, neither of which are always healthy.

I mentioned that I didn't want to have to post to the depression area when I post about dealing with my weight as a result of my assault because depression is not my issue and it would invalidate someone who was dealing with depression as an issue against their weight loss/journey to a healthy weight.

My issue is PTSD and triggers. The constant fear that if I go back to my original weight (the weight at which I was assaulted) that assault will happen again. It is something that causes me to binge and overeat. I am trying not to trigger someone reading this, but with so many women on this site it's almost impossible to not have a niche that would maybe want or need a safe place to discuss their weight gains or losses as a result of assault.

This is not depression and it does not belong in the depression section.

But thank you for pointing out who I could go to with the suggestion. <3

I understand completely, when I was a child, I was molested by several of my fathers coworkers. I have been trying to cope with PTSD for years.
