I'm new here and just wanted to say hi. This is the first weight loss forum I've tried and after reading around a while, I can say it's the first one I've seen that I thought would actually be helpful.

My highest weight was 331. I got down to 289 when I was hit with a sinus infection followed by two GI viruses in the space of about 10 weeks. It took a while to get over everything, but once I fully recovered early this summer, I suddenly started having huge cravings and gained back all the weight. I'm back on the weight loss wagon, at 315 now and my mini goal is to get to 300 by January 1st.

Welcome!!! There's a great positive thread to get great support on and also a goal setting thread in the Lifeboat (10 day increments of anything goal you set). There's the monthly threads as well. Come on over!!!

I'm also glad you are feeling better after your series of illnesses.

Hey stranded, I'm glad you're here! I've been counting calories since Sept 12 & I've lost 27 pounds as of today, so I think your mini goal is very doable!!

Wow, great job rachaelm! I fell waaaay off the wagon yesterday but I haven't given up, and seeing what you and others have lost is really inspiration and helping me keep it together. Thank you!

stranded, so glad you're sticking with it. I have gone over my calories and started beating myself up. There are so many inspirational quotes on here, I love reading posts & use them to pump myself back up.

One of my favorites is "Being fat is hard. Losing weight is hard. Maintaining your weight is hard. Pick your hard."

I can't think of a better way to summarize this struggle. The time will pass whether you're on plan or not. I already know what it's like to not try, I'm ready to see what happens when I do.
