Hi, all. I'm new to this site, but not new to weight loss. At age 51, still struggling with obesity. However, over the past 7 years, I went from 220 lbs to 175. Funny thing is I can't figure out how I dropped from 220 lbs to 197 lbs. But once I realized that I had mysteriously lost weight, I made an effort to lose weight and joined a gym. With great difficulty, I've maintained a size 14 for 4 years. I still yo-yo 15 lbs up and down, though.

I've developed a strong LOVE of exercise. This has led me to try out different gyms and types of exercise. My favorite is "spin cycling." Unfortunately, I had to give up my two gym memberships for financial and time reasons. I miss the gym so, so, so much. Now I'm working on developing an exercise routine using the great outdoors and my great indoors. I hope to get some tips on these forums to finally get to my goal weight. Thanks for listenin'.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your weight loss success and maintenance to date. This is wonderful!
I do not belong to a gym either. I have purchased inexpensive exercise equipment from Craigslist or Play It Again Sports and have set up my own gym in my basement which I use 5 days a week. I would encourage you to incorporate some moderate weight training into your routine. It helps increase metabolism because muscle burns more calories.
Best of luck to you!

Thanks NEMom, I did get a nice bench step from Craigslist but will check the other option as well. I am a cardio girl but have included weight resistance as well. Thanks again !! Congrats on your progress !! 3 lbs to go... What a joy.
