Default Going to movies and freaking!

So the movie theater is one of my biggest downfalls. I'm going with my folks this afternoon and my mom always goes for a large popcorn and large soda and those are calorie loaded. My issue is more self-control and not mindlessly eating and drinking throughout the whole show. I plan to have a meal before and bring my water bottle but the smells...oh goodness how do I not give into that rich, buttery smell?!

Hi Leah!

I don't know what diet you are on, but I hope this may help:

Bring your own portion controlled size of air popped popcorn. It's light in calories and you can flavor it based on what your diet allows. That way when the smell hits you, you have your own to munch on.

Hope that helps!

I just had this problem! I did what you did though, I had a meal beforehand

I took a handful of popcorn so I could have the taste and then I popped a stick of gum in my mouth for the remainder of the movie. Despite my horrid position—I was between my mother and brother who wanted the popcorn—I managed to avoid having any more. I had the taste, and that was it

We always get Diet Coke so I did share that with my mom and brother.

I only had a couple of handfuls so it wasn't all that bad for me either. I survived!! I brought my bottle of water in with me and just kept drinking that.

We went and saw Puss in Boots. It was pretty cute but a little slower than I expected.
