Yum! -- Lean Cuisine Pita Snacks and Other Hearty Munchies

  • So, I just went on a frozen foods run to Wal-Mart because it's the only place around here that sells the Amy's dinners, and I spotted these Lean Cuisine pita & dip snacks. I picked up a Spinach & Artichoke dip, and I have to say: YUM!

Two hundred calories seemed a bit heavy for a snack, but it was delicious and very satisfying. I could definitely see myself budgeting for these a couple of times a week. Has anyone else tried them?

Also, does anyone have any other easy but hearty snack recs? I'm not much for just snagging some raw veggies out of the fridge (though I respect those of you who can) and I'd like to have some ideas for when the munchies strike.
  • I haven't tried those because they're two servings per package and I never have someone to split with!

My snacks of the moment are:

A banana with half a tbsp of natural PB
An apple or asian pear with an ounce of thinly sliced reduced fat cheddar
    A cup of frozen grapes
  • Don't worry about the two servings per pack thing. They're not packaged together inside of the box. It's all individually wrapped, so the second serving will be waiting for you when you want it.

Frozen grapes = deliciousness. Also, frozen blueberries.
  • I struggle with snacks too:
1 wedge of Laughing Cow cheese, 12 reduced fat Wheat Thins (or celery, but I like the crackers better, just more calories)
    Stick of string cheese
    Sugar snap peas (love these!!)
    Frozen blackberries

I'd love to hear more ideas too!
  • My non-veg favorite snacks are:

Emerald dry roasted almonds. You can get the 100 calorie packs or portio out one serving in a baggy. I keep one in my purse.
Greek yogurt. Chobani is my fav!
    Fiji Apples
  • I like the 100 calorie bags of Orville Redenbacher microwave kettle corn. They are very tasty; more tasty than the higher calorie variety I've tried.
