Default Alkaline water, for the health conscious of us

I just found out about the many wonderful benefits health wise of drinking alkaline water, instead of the acidic water in our taps, and bottled spring waters.
I thought I'd share it so who ever was interested could look into it for themselves.
Losing weight is great...never felt better...now onto maintenance and HEALTH.

Cites, please.

And I mean cites that do not come from someone who's selling whatever it is.

And while I'm being the heavy, frankly, I find your header ("for the health conscious of us") massively offensive. You're implying that everyone who does not buy whatever nonsense it is that's being sold is not health-conscious, or at least not as health conscious as you yourself are. That's offensive and way out of line.

Whoa! I don't think her intentions were to be offensive at all. Obviously at this point we're all "health conscious" with the lifestyle we're following. I don't think she's out of line, maybe re-read her post from a different perspective? Let's all be friends!

To the Original Poster- I do understand what you mean about the desire to put better things in our bodies once they begin to get healthier! Buying better quality foods instead of what ever is cheapest or most convenient! It's a good feeling and a good change!

It looks like it can't hurt, may help, but there hasn't been enough research on it.

Last night after I read this posted I did a google first page I came upon was titled ""Ionized" and alkaline water: snake oil on tap" guess my link got pulled but its an interesting perspective does seem to link to a number of different pro/con sites.

Frankly if everyone just drank more water and less sugary drinks we'd be healthier.

We have alkaline water here as we're on an island made of limestone, so I just drink water out of our well. Not sure whether it's healthier or not, it's just what we have. I assume it's as healthy as city water, just doesn't have chlorine in it.

Is "alkaline water" a new marketing idea?

I googled alkaline water and read of it's many benefits and the reminder that you will need an ionizer which you can BUY at various prices, one is advertized at $2500.00.
Buyer beware !!
