Default Trifecta of Triggers!!

So...my DH doesn't usually travel much, but he's out of town for most of the next two weeks for work- he left last night. This is always a HUUGE trigger for me. I hate staying in the house alone (because I'm a baby) and I get stressed, plus I just miss him and don't have to feel the shame of having someone watch me eat, so I tend to make terrible decisions. In addition to that, it's TOM, and it's a bad one. Plus, I have stalled with my weight loss for the last few weeks, which always seems to lead to a backslide. I have been able to maintain my loss, but I'm just having such a hard time getting past 220/219 for some reason.

Just needed to vent. I know what I need to do is get back on the wagon and start really actively trying to lose again, no excuses!

I bet in all your fears you didn't even notice how FABULOUS it was to clearly see that all these events were triggers! To recognize that gives you the option of doing something to help yourself get through it.

I think of these alone times as the time to do something that all for me. I can plan on films to watch that my husband would moan and groan was a chick flick. I can have a spa day or night and try out a new product. I can take a long luxurious hot bubble bath without a husband busting in and asking where his socks are. I can have fish for dinner without any comments about how it stinks.....

I take advantage of having a few days to myself and when my husband returns, I am refreshed and feel terrific because I not only had some me time, but I didn't wallow in food.

Hope you have fun! Remember that food never solves anything but physical hunger.

I love OSB's suggestions! And do you have family in the area? Maybe they can stay with you a few days and help you thru your fear of being alone and help keep you accountable for your eating?

Or take advantage of the situation. Because the best way to get over something is by going through it, not around it! Conquer those fears and show yourself that it can be YOU that holds yourself accountable, not your hubby.

Keep posting here and keep reading.
