Weekly Chat/Check-in Oct. 10- Oct. 16, 2011

  • Hi all! I thought I'd get us rolling along with a new thread to start the week off right! It sounds like there were a few of us that had an "off" week last week and are ready to get re-focused. Unfortunately, I am included in that group.

I had to travel for work last week and it was tough. Sitting in the car for four hours, alone, makes for perfect munching time! I was mostly prepared and brought along healthy snacks, which made me proud. But by the time my trip was over, I was SICK of sandwiches and salad! I hate that they are the healthiest fast food. I wanted something less healthy. I made it to the hotel gym two days, which made me feel good. I did end up with a gain this week, but playing my own mental game, I chose not to "count it." Whether right or wrong, I knew why I had a gain and learned from it. Hoping that when Friday morning rolls around that things are back where I left them last week, maybe even lower.

I hope everyone is doing well. Dana and Boomerang, sending extra hugs for a refocused and successful week for you. Boomerang, after I read your post, my eyes were drawn to your signature line. I think we can all take something away from Zig's statement: “The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want right now” This week, let our focus be on what we want most, why we're doing what we're doing. Baby steps. We'll get there.
  • What a difference water makes! While I was traveling and in my workshop, I wasn't able to drink as much as I wanted. Since I wasn't in control of my bathroom times, it made it harder to drink all that I should. I think this is what primarily contributed to my gain last week. I'm already seeing the scale drop just by drinking my water. I expect I'll hit my weight that I was before my trip and maybe even a little less by Friday.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Check in when you get a moment.
  • Worked out this morning (1 hour free weights and 30 min. Cardio). Goal for calories today is 2,000.

LisaLou glad to see you are staying on plan. I try to drink as much water as possible since I tent to get dehydrated when i diet. I can usually tell by how loose my wedding band is how hydrated I am.
  • Hi! Weigh in this morning showed a two pound loss.

With there being 11 weigh ins until the end of the year, I'm still on track to be in Onederland by 2012. What an accomplishment that will be. Leave the 200's in my past and start the new year off right.

Sure hope everyone is doing well. Robert and I are lonely down here.
  • Good evening all. Lisa, your goal is super.

I like the way you're looking at 11 weigh ins to end the year. In a somewhat perfect world, that gives us an opportunity to "safely" lose 11 pounds by December 31st, if our bodies and appetites are willing.

Would I be happy with 11 more pounds by December 31st? Well, ho ho ho, I certainly would.

I painted the hallway today and didn't eat until about an hour ago. Cheeseburger from the grill and some baked beans. Couldn't even finish the burger. I think later I'll have some fruit and yogurt and call it a day.

Robert, from your posts you enjoy working out. Can I catch some of your enthusiasm please?
  • Hey, gals! I haven't checked this forum in awhile and I saw you posted here. I'm about... oh, six weeks late? But still here! How are you doing? Thanks for the good vibes!
