New chick from Europe

  • Hi all,

    Found this wonderful forum when googling "body image" and "floppy belly". I've been reading this forum all weekend (although it's wonderful weather here!) and I have to say that I admire you guys so much. The support, honesty and warmness here are great and I would love to be a part of it.
    I have been low carbing for the last 5 months and already lost quite some weight and hope to keep doing so .

  • Congratulations on the weight you've lost so far and all the best on reaching your goal! This certainly is a great forum.

    I, too, love low-carb dieting. I don't follow any particular low-carb diet, but it is the the only way for me to lose weight and not get cravings, so most of my foods are high in protein. I will still eat a couple slices of spelt bread and one or two fruits most days of the week. Otherwise I get too weak and leg cramps from a lack of potassium.

    Hi Sandy, thanks to you too for the welcome. Yes, for me low-carb is the only way to avoid cravings. I love fruit though, so most days I'll eat an apple and some blueberries. I miss bread as well and I tried to replace with Atkins crackers but it's not really (really not!) the same.
  • Hey and welcome! I'm from Europe myself. Borned and raised in Sweden. Moved to Texas a few weeks ago tho due to work.

    Glad to hear low cards working for you. I'm personaly a big fan of proteinfood myself

  • Welcome! I too am practicing the low carb method...I think..lol..with some modifications. I practice portion control and have recenlty (in last 3 weeks) took out all sugar. Like you said in my post, we have similar starting weights, heights, and final weight goals. It would be nice to share this journey with you!
