New from IL - Finally Got It Done!

    Just joined the forum and am very happy I found this site. Looks like a wealth of information to be found here.

    A little about myself. I am a 26 yr old female and have been overweight most of my life since grade school. I tried losing weight on and off over the years just like I am sure a lot of you have. But of course, I always gained it back. And then some. In March of 2011, some events happened that really changed my mind about what I was doing to myself and how it was affecting my life and I knew I HAD to make a change. I was at my biggest at that point at 227 lbs and being only 5 ft tall.

    Fast forward 18 months later, my last weigh in was at 135 lbs this week. I am still about 8 lbs from my goal of losing 100 lbs. I did not follow any special diet or exercise plan to lose the weight. Calories in vs calories out and working out hard 4-6 days a week. However, I have learned that it is so much harder losing the last 10 lbs than it was to lose the first 50.

    Anyway, I hope I can educate myself further from others on this forum and also provide help and insight from what I have learned about nutrition and exercise throughout my own journey.

    First of all CONGRATULATIONS on losing nearly 100 pounds! Amazing!

    You might enjoy the Featherweights section if you're struggling with those last few pounds.

    However you will probably also appreciate the 100lb Club for those of us who have lost or want to lose about 100 pounds. There's also the 20-something's section, and so many encouraging members all over the place.
