Default Here I go....again

So here I go again. Another new start.

I've lost 11 pounds this year and things were moving in the right direction a...and then my social life took over. Eating out and drinking alcohol is such a huge part of my life (which is probably also the reason why I have no money in the bank account and the weight has crept back on).

I need to somehow reprogram my mind to associate eating out and drinking alcohol as a treat once in a while and not something that im entitled to do because ive had a great/bad day

Anyone else facing this challenge?

Hi geekchicchick
I am new as well - and love my alcohol. I have just gotten back in the saddle so to speak and decided to go cold turkey on the alcohol until I have lost at least a stone - when I get there, I'll have a glass of champagne to celebrate! (okay who am I kidding - a stone? Hubby and I will finish the bottle that night!)

To replace our usual nightly glass of wine with dinner, we are now drinking a a big glass of sparkling mineral water with a slice of lime or lemon. I seriously can't believe it is working - but it is!! Give it a try!

Hi and welcome I have this same problem! I find it so difficult to say no when all of my friends are drinking, but it has to be done unfortunately. I've just limited myself to drinking once a week (not every week, but if I'm out..). Try saving a few calories through the day so that drinking won't push you too far over your allowance. Also, drinking a spirit, like vodka, with a diet coke or diet lemonade is less calories than wine or cocktails (though I just can't resist the cocktails!) Then you just have to tackle the getting kebab on the way home habit :P Good luck!
