Good morning Chickadees!

Well I must have caught up on my beauty sleep because I woke up at 3:30 this morning and could not go back to sleep. So I went ahead and got up, had some hot chocolate and then did my 2 mile walk aerobics tape with Leslie Sansone. I might need a nap by lunchtime haha

Leens - I want to tell you something.....when my boys were babies I did not exercise like this. I could not. I was so sleep deprived that it was all I could do just to make it to work everyday and take care of my boys and speak to my dear hubby every once and awhile. It was absolutely wild as it is for every mom. Now that my boys are teenagers, I really enjoy walking or doing a walk tape because it clears my mind, gives me energy and just makes me feel better to face all the things that I have to face. Sooooooo girlie, cut yourself some slack, take care of that baby and your hubby and YOURSELF (so that you can take care of them), and when you can walk - well then walk - because you want to and you know that you will feel better for doing it. When you can't, well then you just can't. Just wanted to say that I have been there, at that space in time, when all you can do is what you have to do. :-)

I guess everybody is gonna be eating their soups today. I guess I'm gonna have to break down and make me a pot of soup too - yall have all made me hungry for some good soup.

I guess Kemp is frozen over there on the other side of Louisiana. Windchill was 29 this morning and will be 20 tomorrow - I know that's not cold compared to the rest of yall, but I think Kemp moved down here to get away from the cold ;-)

Ladypal - you go girl! Helping the hubby work on the truck....I'm impressed!

I hope everybody has a great great day!

hugs,
Cathy

It's terribly cold here today. I hate this! My chicken veggie soup was perfect and so was the warm bread, fresh from the bread machine. DH requested more for Saturday noon when we finish the soup for lunch.
Am making a pork roast in the crockpot today. Trying to decide what to make with it besides cauliflower. Rice, I think.
Leenie, Cathy is right. Geez! Just what you do every day baffles me! I remember being a mother to babies and it of itself is a full time job. BTW, how is your Mom doing these days?

Well, am off to do the laundry. I'd like to go to the sewing room, but it's upstairs and that's mostly unheated. Brrrrrrr!

April you sound great! Good to see that.

Tippy are your crockpot receipes healthy?

Leens I agree with everyone else give yourself a break.

Cathy the wind chill here this morning was 19 and it will be worse tonight and Saturday. I don't think I have frozen all the way but I think I am on my way. lol This stinks!

Joe will be home tomorrow night so I will have to brave this cold by myself. The back of my house has three huge windows (85x95) and onlu two of them have blinds (to expensive to put them on all three). Needless to say it gets cold in my living room and kitchen. I have to cover up and not move just to stay warm. I will be moving plants when I get home today. Does that count as a workout? lol

Hello to all who show up after me.

WOW you guys sound teriffic !

Okay already ... snip snip SLACK snip snip

I really want to run out to the store later, but its so cold, I'm dreading it. The wind alone makes your teeth hurt, no lie.

Tip soup and bread sounds yummy, I love soup but can't make a good pot to save my life. Minnestrone is my fav, next to potato and yes Linny, Lobster Bisque (I hate lobster ) My grandma used to make excellent tomato & beef soup, wish I would have gotten the recipie.

Keep warm everyone

Huggs !

Talking Alright Leens, stop naggin' me

Leens told me to get back in here to the daily. I am sure most didn't miss me, but I just wanted to stop her from whining...

This month has been great for diet and exercise, but lousy for depression, grief and death. I won't go into the details, but suffice to say this has been a less than stellar month so far.

I am also a soup nut. I love making lentil & barley chicken soup, chicken vegetable soup, wonton soup, 16 bean soup with smoked sausage and trying new recipes I find online. I don't ever want to get a bread maker cuz freah hot bread would not last around me at all.. yum.

Leens, it is okay if you hate lobster. That is more for me. And besides, you hating lobster is just more proof you have a chemical imbalance in your brain. Also, it's more for me. You can have the liver, brains and the headcheese.

'lo everyone.. not a lot of time today.

Kempyd, recipes can be as healthy or unhealthy as a person wants. The chicken veggie soup is mostly veggies in a broth that I carefully removed the fat from. I just put in a bit of the chicken cause the broth was so tasty. The bread isn't that unhealthy--it's the pound of butter that I'm tempted to put on it. Tonights meal is a pork roast that I browned for more flavor. The mixture I am cooking it in is a combo of fat-free cream of mushroom soup, a envelope of dry onion soup and a can of regular Pepsi soda--the diet isn't any good for this recipe. If the fat is cut off of the pork, it isn't unhealthy. The cauliflower certainly is good for you and again, depending on what is put on the rice, small amounts are okay.
I'm lucky in that R loves veggies anyway exept creamed..yuck!

Oh and i might add that any food is unhealthy if it is eaten too much...like when R eats a whole pizza and I am chanting "portion control"!

Let me add that we don't con
msume the mixture that the pork roast is cooked in. It gives the roast a wonderful flavor, but we don't use it. Our doggie, Goldie, gets it on his food.

Greetings all

All this talk of soup is making me hungry for some. Only prob is the weather here is more salad than soup! I'll get some good ideas for when it turns cold tho.

January is a busy birthday time for us. My DH was 40 yesterday, youngest DD is 1 today and it's mine next week. DH had day off work and that always throws out what little routine I have! I love him dearly but aren't they a pain when they're home sometimes! Can't get near computer when he's home esp if there's housework to do (when isn't there!)

Hope you've all had a good day so far. I'm a bit off track and hope that things getting back to normal with school etc will make difference next week. Everything I do at moment seems to get off track. I have decided to try and go with the flow til things get back to normal and to do as best as I can at moment. Going out for meal wed p.m for DH birthday didn't help the cause- too much too choose and all yummy!!

Have a good day Catch you all later

Anna

Hello Ladies!

Up at the crack of dawn...had an 8:30 Dr appointment.wanted me there 30 min early..............hubby was kind enough to clear snow off my car and turn it on for me. The Dr appt went well....I have a ganglion cyst on an index finger and the dermatoligist send me to a hand surgeon. Naturally it has to come off.or will disfigure nail & joint. Will have outpatient surgery Feb 12th.............what really got me excited was he can do something about the other index finger that is a mess from arthritis! Everyone that sees it says.yeah it looks like my poor old Grandma's did!(always comforting )WELL not so.the cartilage is completely gone and the joint frozen.he can take it out (the big joint) and make it straight by fusing it.it doesnt bend anyway so I dont care!It looks awful but whats really bad is the pain.it will eliminate the pain !! I cant wait! I do need the cyst removed first..................!

So much for that.I visited my 2 friends until noon and returned home.did my exercise tape.changed goldfish bowl and did a load of wash...................now I have a few other million household chores to do before church........soooooooooooooooo.....I am loving the cold and snow! It is beautiful!

Tippy.I can smell the roast!
LadyPal.pancakes smell yummy too!
Cathy.BRAVO for the exercise tape double bravo for the time
April.....you sound happy.congrats!
Kemp......bet you look forward to hubby returning..why not exercise after work?
LindaT.of course you are missed! Missed you in chat too!
Anna..........enjoy his birthday with him...........determine tomorrow is on track!
Leens.would love to hear more about baby girl!
SWEET.where are you?
Mom of2boys.miss you too!

Have agood rest of the day!
Blessings to you all!

Hello everyone,

Glad to see that everyone is doing well. I too made so soup the other day but didn't have much luck. After adding the cabbage to my veggie beef soup I forgot to turn the heat down and guess what....it burned to the bottom of the pan YUCK!!! I'm a very good cook usually but this whole week has been the pits.

Schooling the boys went well. They had some tests to do and passed them all with flying colors. I'm glad because that means we can move onto the next chapter in their books.

My DH's uncles memorial service is tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to this....you know why....not because of everyone being sad I'm o.k. with that...it's because I really dont have anything that's nice to wear!! Now, doesn't that just make your head spin! I have to get a grip!! Seems that his, uncles, family is fighting over his ashes. He's being creamated and things are getting mean between his wife and their daughters.

So anyway, I still have to make up my mind what I'm going to have for dinner. I got up enough nerve to weigh myself this morning and I'm proud to say that I'm holding my own. I have not been binge eating but my food choices leave alot to be desire. I really do need to get better at that.

Off I go to watch Trading Spaces and then fix a little dinner.

Blessings to all, Chrissy

Hello...

Brrr we are freezing. It's 14* and 1* windchill. I am ready for Saturday when they say we will be back in the 50's.

Linda, it is good to see you back in here. And why was Leens able to get you back in when I had asked you several times????

Cin, here I am. Chris has been up the last few days and he acts like he owns the computer. Well he does but shhhh, I don't remind him of that. Sorry about your finger. Hmmm, once that Granny finger is fixed, you need to check into Miss Clairol and get rid of the gray. You will no longer fit the part.

Just got dinner over and the dishes washed. I didn't want to have to go back outside again. We had spaghetti, salad, and TX toast.

So sorry Chrissy for what the family is going through. Death is hard enough without there being family problems.

I am considering making potato soup tomorrow. Chris won't eat it and Dad doesn't know when to quit. I will have to make less than usual for that reason since he is diabetic. ]

Guess who is hovering over my shoulder wanting their computer back??? I will see you all tomorrow....

I will be in chat tonite so hope to see some of you.......

Hi again,

I went to my class on living with depression this afternoon.....one of the things we are doing is making small goals....mine are to walk 5 minutes the 1st week....this last week I walked 5 minutes twice this past week....will increase it every week. This week it was about having fun....when we get depressed....the thing that gets left behind is having fun.

It was snowing all day until about 3 P.M.

My next door neighbor called a few hours ago. They were robbed today. They took their new DVD, DH's computer, all her jewellry & her wedding ring....plus some other things. My DH was outside snowblowing all the snow we got in the last 24 hours....he even did their driveway.....he didn't see anything.

The police....the RCMP....came over to our house to see if we saw anyone....at first I said I didn't see anyone....then I got a flash.....we have only have 1 window that faces the road.....sometime between 12 & 1 P.M. I went to look out this bedroom window....sometimes we do that.....just to see what's happening out front.....I remember that I saw these 2 guys with dark hair standing on the road across the street....they had these 2 dufflle bags....which were on the street. I never thought anything of it. The police took my name down.....if they find them....I will have to look at them in a line up.

Ladypal....we have a bread machine....the first year we used it a lot......after that we hardly ever use it.....maybe twice a year....that is something to think about.

Linda....so sorry to hear about all that is happening to you & your family.

ChrissyI am sorry to hear about the death of your DH's uncle.
