I did P1 last month and did great. I lost 8lbs and actually didn't cheat once! I think I jumped into P2 too quickly, and should have gone the 1.5 route. I have put 2lbs back on in the past 1 weeks. I want to start fresh with Phase 1 again, and make sure to ease my way into P2. This upcoming Friday is my 2 year wedding anniversary. My mother in law will be in town and has offered to watch our infant so that we can go out to dinner. We go out maybe once every 2-3 months. And being that it is a special occasion I will likely want a glass or 2 of wine and don't want to have to stress over what to eat from the menu or where to go based on food choice. Long story short I can pretty much guarantee I will "cheat" that day.
So, should I wait to start until Sat, after we go out? Or should I start tomorrow as I had planned?
start tomorrow and do Ph1 for a few days. Make sure the cravings are out of your system. Unless you've not been eating SBD at all since Ph1 and then I'd say you will want to do a clean Ph1.
If you do Ph1 for the 5 days, and on Sat. are able to eat Ph1 with a glass or two of wine, then go for it. You have to do what works for you. If you aren't ready to give up the glass of wine, then you should wait to start.
I had this issue too- I found that I just can't eat very many carbs without gaining. I stuck to a 1.5 kind of phase for a long time and ended up finding out that I should eat my carbs earlier in the day as well.
I agree. Start tomorrow. And if you really want to splurge for your anniversary, you already have a few days under your belt. Then you can get right back on track, but you may want to do the full 2 weeks after the big dinner.
This bit is in Beck Diet Solution...we give ourselves the okay to not do well, since one thing disrupts it. Are you completely off right now, or doing a clean phase II? I agree with the other ladies...do it now, and let the anniversary be a planned cheat. Enjoy! The get right back on it Saturday morning.
FYI and warning! You almost never lose the subsequent times on phase I as you did the first time. You can (IME) still drop 2-3 lbs of water weight though.
Even though I'm at goal, I've found that I still can't have 3 servings of grains in one day and maintain my weight. Most of my days are P1.5, and include, at most 1 serving of grains. I notice a change in the scale almost immediately if I go beyond that.
