This is my third day on the Juice diet.
I'm drinking Coffee, water, and milk as well as the fruit juices.
Is there a reason why I am light headed?
You think it's because I'm still new at this?
I went from eating like a cow literally, to drinking juice for the past three days.
Will this pass?
I think the reason you are lightheaded is because you are not eating food.
I've never heard of the "juice diet" but it sounds extreme and dangerous to me. No, it's not okay to be light-headed. In my opinion, you should eat a healthy, balanced diet that includes protein, fiber, maybe some whole-grain carbs. Vegetables, fish, lean meats, legumes, brown rice if you like, a little healthy oil, a little dairy, that sort of thing. Balance.
Fruit juice is a bizarre thing to base a diet around - it has less fiber than whole fruit, it has no protein at all, and it's got lots of sugar. That sounds like a diet guaranteed to make you sick.
Please, for yourself, consider eating actual food. If you want advice on how to lose weight eating real food every day, lots of people here can help you - myself included, I've lost 95 pounds that way. Just ask.
The reason you're feeling lightheaded is likely because you aren't eating anything, and VERY likely you aren't getting enough calories or the right nutrients to sustain... you know... being alive.
If you're going to continue an all juice diet, it had better be under strict doctor supervision to make sure you're getting all the nutrition you need.
Although, I would also urge you to reconsider that type of plan, and maybe aim towards eating more solid foods and keeping track of the intake.
Losing weight is a long-distance journey, not a sprint. You might "lose some weight" in the short-term living on fruit juice, but it is transient and unhealthy.
Suggest you try eating a moderate diet of all foods, just less. The folks on this site who lost a lot of weight and kept it off will tell you that it requires a way of eating that lasts a lifetime, or else you will yo-yo up and down, gaining each time as you rebound from a state of deprivation.
You ask, "Will this pass?" No, but you might "pass" out. Please, please, stop this and find a safer way to lose weight.
ALL of the above. I suggest reading up on proper nutrition during weight loss with an eye for lifestyle permanent changes.
Any "diet" is just a temporary fad and is 100% guaranteed to equal life long failure at maintaining health.
Count your lucky stars that the physical problems you are experiencing exemplify how dangerous fad diets can be so soon and GET OUT QUICK!
Consider your goals, and get real. REALLY ask yourself if you're ready to change permanently. If you're not, the mild attempts you make will surely hurt your efforts in the end. That's called yo-yo dieting.
To succeed, you need to change. The bigger question is, are you ready?
I'm not completely against fasting, but only for a day or 2 at a time. Were you planning on fasting all the weight off?
You do need to adjust your real eating habits for when you go back to real food - since you said you ate like a cow before, you won't be able to go back to eating like that once the weight is off. It's good to start making those lifelong portion and food changes along the way...
Yes, what others have said, and my own 2 cents: NO, IT IS NOT OK TO BE LIGHTHEADED. EVER.
When I was a teenager, I stopped eating, pretty much just had about 1 meal per week & otherwise feasted on a banana & glass of orange juice per day. Guess what? I passed out regularly. Even once while driving (NOT GOOD!!!!) which resulted in an accident & the loss of my license. Yeah, not too bright.
But I've sure learned a lot since then (I'm almost 48 now.) We are human beings, wonderfully made. The human body is a fascinating machine. But it only works properly when properly fueled. No food = improperly fueled. A human can survive about 21-30 days without food, but only 3-5 days without water. The human body is more than 60% water. Blood is 92% water, the brain and muscles are 75% water, and bones are about 22% water. None of these things function properly without food, and especially if you're getting "too much glucose" (from the juices, I assume) then you are probably experiencing hyperglycemia, which is why you are feeling light-headed. Having too much sugar in the blood for long periods of time can cause serious health problems if it's not treated. Hyperglycemia can damage the vessels that supply blood to vital organs, which can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke, kidney disease, vision problems, and nerve problems - sounds bad, huh? That's because IT IS.
If your goal is to lose weight, then educate yourself! Start reading, stick around 3FC & ask questions, and give your body a fighting chance. Don't think you have to starve yourself in order to lose weight. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of 3FC members who can help guide you to better health.
In my experience no, it won't pass, it will just get worse.
Lightheadedness is a dangerous symptom, and it can progress to passing out. In my teens and twenties, I often dieted this way (because I was foolish). I even thought it was "good" or at least normal because some diets said it was (as in Atkins' induction flu).
I didn't take it seriously until I actually passed out TWICE (I convinced myself that the first time was a fluke - caused by the summer heat, not the diet).
Trust your body - exercise shouldn't hurt or make you feel sick, and your diet shouldn't either.
