Default Here I go again on my own...

Hi there--

I'm a chronic dieter and so far I've lost about 60-70 lbs from 3 years of off and on dieting. I'm planning on starting a new weight loss program which will be the Juice Lady diet, or basically a juicing diet.

I've got a lot of stress in my life which is probably my biggest roadblock for losing weight. I'm a stress eater and a boredom eater. I'd love to have some support and advice in this new journey!
I'd love to be there for others walking down the same treacherous path!

-Jess

Hello stessbucket It is a journey indeed. I don't know very much about juice diets, but I am betting there are folks on here who do. Either way, would love to offer up some support, Lord knows I am starving for it too... that's why I am here, trying to get some. My DH is wonderful support, but not one other person in my day to day life is backing me really... frustrating. But... we do this for ourselves, not others right? Good luck to you and I know you will do well!!!

Thank you very much for the kind welcome!! You are right, we are doing this for ourselves, but sometimes we search for encouraging words and actions from others. Even if we don't get it, we can't forget that dropping our healthy lifestyles only hurt us and no one else!

Are you guys like me? Before I start a new diet I always have a really naughty meal to kind of say goodbye to bad food for a while. I'm sure there's something wrong with that, but I always regret it if I don't do it!

Welcome to 3FC =)

I'm curious. What are you plans for "after juicing"? Do you have a food plan in mind? An exercise plan?

I'd suggest caution, because I'm not sure if you plan on only drinking juice for the rest of your life so it might be difficult to transition back to a reduced calorie food plan.

Also, no. Never had a "final" meal. As I can eat anything I want. No regrets. I just measure out the food and count it out. No restrictions.

Look around, and best of wishes =)

I have not done a 'goodbye' meal either, but it's due to the fact the only things I can't eat are now medical reasoned. Everything else I still allow myself on a periodic basis and in moderation. I am not doing the "diet" thing per say, it's more of a lifestyle change at this point and incorporating healthier choices.

You are so right! I keep looking for SOME kind of support and when it's not received, it feels like a let-down. But, you are also correct in saying if we fall back, we are only hurting ourselves even more...and dang it, I deserve better than that. I can't get upset cause others hurt me if I am going to just do it too So... keep on trucking and remembering it's for me... and you do it for you. Sounds silly, but it does help

After the juicing, I think I will maintain a healthy diet. I'm able to maintain quite well, it's the losing weight that I have a problem with. I've already lost 70 lbs, so I think I'm just stuck and have to try something new. When I was larger, it was MUCH easier to lose weight than it is now.

And as far as exercise, I have always exercised. I walk about 2 miles a day, hike and bicycle on the weekends, and swim in the summer. Diet is way more important than exercise when it comes to weight loss. How about you? What do you do for exercise?

stressbucket - for me (not sure who that was directed for, lol) but I use my elliptical almost obsessively (love that thing!), walk with my youngest, bike with my middle child, swim (we have our own pool in backyard)... and I am so so so excited cause I just ordered the Total Gym which should be here in a week or two!!! Most weekdays it's just the elliptical, weekends I am not working and can devote a ton more time to fitness. I also love to play tennis and my DH will actually do that with me!

I love the elliptical, too!! I wish I had one at home. I'm thinking of doing golfing again, which is maybe not a ton of exercise, but you're walking and moving around and no eating is involved, so that's not bad.
