Question phase 1 week 2...tips?

I started SBD on July 1 and have since lost 5 lbs...I am so excited! But, it seems like the weight loss has slowed down and I am not getting discouraged yet, but am worried I will...I am 3 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight, which I am sooooo excited about! I am trying to get healthier so we can have our second baby...we want to get pregnant next summer. So, I figure after a year, I will know how to eat healthier and feel better, for the whole family. Any tips for surviving the second week of phase 1?

"real" weight loss may stall a bit as you go on. The initial weight loss is usually due to your body releasing water that sugar and bad carbohydrates were holding onto. Once you get those out of your system, the water leaves too. The loss that comes next is the real weight loss. The fat! But for that you need to watch what youre eating. Not necessarily counting calories but just make sure you are getting enough but not too much. Add exercise is you feel like you have the energy. And most importantly (i think) is to get creative with your meals! Read the on plan meal threads and menus on this site to find new ideas. And ask lots of questions, everyone on here is really great about helping and responding! Good luck and congratulations on what you've accomplished so far!

The second week is brutal. I found that day 10 was the hardest... I was just so tried of eating roll ups. Try reading a cookbook and seeing if you can alter something. I checked out the SBD cookbooks from my library and meal planned from them. This week we are having curry chicken, buffalo chicken bites, steak with creamed spinach, garlic and lemon shrimp with green beans. Also, if you have a food processor, or hand immersion blender, try the recipe from the treads for "mock french toast" It helped me not quit this weekend...

I too am losing weight for a second baby. We just lost a 17 week pregnancy, and want to start trying again soon, so I need to me in tip top shape...

good luck, and remember to come here often, it really does help to keep you on plan.

I am in week 2 and yes, weight loss has stalled a bit but my clothes fit better (after a week of not pulling on work clothes, I can feel it). Don't expect a huge loss again, but 1-2 pounds or so, depending on what you have to lose. this is a healthy weight loss range now, especially as we near Ph2.

Please don't get discouraged. Think about how long it took you to put the weight on and decide to take it off - it won't happen overnight. Keep with the structure of Ph 1 for a few more days. We can do it!

Jenne's right. And any "diet" that causes you to lose 5 lbs a week for it's entirety is NOT a safe one. So as long as you are sticking to plan and maybe adding in some exercise, 1-2 lbs a week is safe and healthy.
