Default For Those Who Text

The folks at Livestrong have a service for when you're on the go. Just text the food you want to know the calorie count for to 35242 and in about a minute you receive a text back with the calorie count. It's kind of cool. Helped me avoid 80 cals of slurpee today.
Funny I always thought the Crystal light slurpee was really low cal.

Wow that sounds pretty awesome. I'm tempted just to text a random food to them just to try it out lol. I wish Weight Watchers had a service like that for points.

Do you know if there's a charge for the service?

It's just whatever your phone company charges for texts.
@ Virgochic I've been texting crazy stuff I'm not even planning to eat lol.
FYI Apple Pie Filling with no crust has 300 calories lol.

Hmm, weird. It didn't work for me. It wouldn't even send. Do you have to be in the US for it to work?

My reply was "premium messaging to this mobile number has been blocked" I can get text from friends, history.com and my local hockey team. So I am not sure why this is blocked.

There's an app called Restaurants that lists all the major chains, their menus and their nutritional info for everything. It's incredibly helpful if you eat out. I actually don't eat out much anymore, but there are times when I go out with friends or family and it comes in handy just to have. I think it was free, too!
