I am sure this has been discussed here since I'm so new. But I am very concerned about GMO foods. I want to stay away from them. Because of this, I stay away from soy oil as well as canola. I use olive oil the most. I'm careful also about corn since most of it is GMO.

Also I buy organic a lot. This ends up being more expensive. So I have a garden going and freeze/dry or can a lot of our food.

Does anyone else have a hard time with GMO foods?

Most of the GMO foods go into either processed foods or feed for animals. Unfortunately, in the us, companies have fought not to have to label their foods as GMO. So non-organic foods can be GMO, you never know. I try to buy as much organic as possible and limiting my processed foods helps stay away from a lot of the GMO stuff.

Me too nelie--so this ends up that I do a lot of "scratch" cooking but I use healthy ingredients and I feel much better.

About a year ago I ate something (don't remember now what it was) and it made me feel sick. That is when I became more alert to GMO foods!

So now I read ingredients carefully when I go shopping! Thanks for the reply.
