Hi! I made this thing back in 2007 and fell off the proverbial bandwagon after awhile. I've recently made some changes in my life and starting piecing it back together and that included finally doing something about my weight.
The TL;DR version of my story is that I have always been heavy but after losing my job two years ago and being unable to find employment for a year and a half my weight jumped from about 285 to 350. Now I'm working, I've gone back to college (at 30 years old, to boot!) and thanks to a foot in my butt from my family I've started losing weight.
For Christmas last year my Dad paid for me to start going to a weight loss center. They've given me an appetite suppressant and some supplements, which have worked in combination with moderating my diet. So far I've lost 34 pounds in about 7 months. I'm not completely happy with it and it's been an uphill battle every step of the way, but 34 pounds is 34 pounds and it is what it is.
The ball has started rolling and I came back to this site in hopes to find some kind of support network outside of my family. I'm hoping to get to know other people who are struggling or have struggled with the things I am now and learn from them. I've really enjoyed reading some of the threads on the forums today so I hope we'll be getting the chance to lift each other up!
