I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Comfort food is an issue for almost every single person on this site, so in that you aren't alone.
You can take control, though. Exercising more, eating healthier... that's all it takes. (I say "that's all", but it's not always that easy, and every person here knows it.)
Commit to something this week. One thing you know you can do. You like to exercise? That's great. Do some form of exercise each day this week. Walking, or going to the gym, doing a DVD. Something.
Then after this week? Commit to it, again. Schedule it in.
