Default Howdy! New here! :)

Hello all! I am new here....I joined because my husband recommended it. It has been a while since I have joined a new forum setting so any recommendations or advice about the site would be appreciated.

Obviously I joined because I have a weight issue, I was an active teenager and gained most of my weight in college. After years of attempts, I have finally gained some success. Some days are harder than others though and I have a hope of finding like-minded souls to both receive and give support to.

Two months ago I hurt my knee quite badly. I have always been active, even while very overweight so this could have been a serious setback for my goal of losing weight. Convinced by my husband that I had to take some weight off my injured knee I began a food plan that would allow me to lose weight without much physical exercise. Two months later I have lost 20 pounds and I have been feeling great.

I hope to have this continue all the way down the scale!

20 lbs! what a great start! I am new as well and understand the challenges of doing this with an injury. (I just got the go ahead from the doc to start weights.) Glad you are feeling great - I hope it is motivating. Good luck!

Yay on the weight lifting! I know it makes a big difference when you feel like you are able to be proactive with weight loss. I am doing some upper body and core workouts and walking, but anything else seems to be a bit stressful on my knee...two months and not fully healed.

Good for you for working around your injury! Keep up the good work!

Hey there & Welcome to 3FC =)

We're all here because we want to be healthier, eat well, move a little more and maybe drop some weight off in the process.

Make sure to look around. There are support group areas by amount to lose or age, etc. There are sections for those following specific types of food or exercise plans. Just participate wherever you're comfortable. The site's open to everyone, and there's good information around.

Best of wishes!
