Default Becoming the new Normal

Hi everyone-
I just wanted to ask everyone-when did your diet become your new "normal?" When did it truly become your lifestyle? I know for me, it has just happened. I have been calorie counting for a little over a month. I eat 1500 calories a day and I have a "cheat day" on Saturday. It helps me understand what moderation really is. I can have a honey bun-once a week-not every night. But, usually on Sunday I am right back to wanting to write down everything I eat in my little journal, and drink more water, and eat more fruits and veggies. Then on Monday morning, I want to wake up and meet Chris Freytag with my workout in my living room. It's like this is a constant in my life-something I can control. So, my question is-when did it "click" for y'all?

Mine just kinda happened, too. I just started to count calories and stuck with it. Sure, I have days when I am off-plan, but the next day I just get up and start fresh. I don't let off-plan days ruin my mood, and this lifestyle just really 'clicks' with me...I don't see it as a diet, but a way of eating. I'm glad it's working for you!

I think for me it was the day I came home from work and was cheered at the idea that I didn't have to make a pot of pasta and sauce on the stove for dinner (which was my regular dinner previously), I can just throw some chicken and vegetables in the roasting pan and it will be soooo much easier.

Laziness: when healthy eating becomes the EASIER option.

I think it took me about 5-6 months in before I became completely "reprogrammed". I think every person is different when it comes to this, though.

It's only been a little more than a couple of months for me, but I think it clicked with me when I stopped calling it a diet. My primary focus was to get healthier. I count my calories, stay away from a lot of carbs and processed foods and move more.
