Default starting my journey...

Hey! I'm Nikki, 22 from New York. I'm currently starting my weight loss journey [which I've done 30 times before]. I'm so sick of letting food and stress get to me and push me even further from my goal! I'm going to attempt a low cal/no carb diet and am really hoping to lose 40-ish pounds over the next two months. I joined a gym, I'll go daily for treadmill use...

I'd love to get know some things that have worked for everyone else, I think if I don't do it now, I never will and I'll keep settling for a less happy version of myself forever.

So, I could really use a partner[s] to do this journey with me, as a support system, so friends are always welcome!

I think 40 lbs in two months is going to be too fast and extreme. I think aiming for 2 lbs a week is the best approach for long term and sustainable weightloss.

Good luck with your goals. I know I must have yo-yo dieted for years before I buckled down and found a sustainable way much like yours starting off with calorie counting and treadmill walking (eventually running)!

P.S. I love NY I'll be there this weekend to visit my sister in NYC. Hope you find the support you need in this great forum!

I am much older than you and started the journey 24 days ago, on Atkins, which is very low carbs. It has worked before and it is working now. 40 pounds an two months is doable; but you will gain it back just as fast if not faster. 1.5-2 lbs a week is a reasonable goal, and you need to allow for set backs and be forgiving with yourself. (Specially, if you, like me, have been there and done it 30 times before. I have the same goal of 40 lbs, and have lost 5! I am not elated; but I am satisfied. I am not hungry at all; but get
enormous desires for eating. I should have been born a cow, because I love to graze! Good luck, amiga! Chi va piano va lontano. An old Italian saying, meaning he who goes slow gets far! Vee
