Default The most difficult thing about eating healthy...

...is living with someone who doesn't eat healthy at all. My boyfriend, blessed with great skinny genetics, can eat whatever he wants. Makes me sick when I see him put down multiple Big Macs and still have a six-pack.

He has this philosophy that "you can eat whatever you want as long as you exercise". Not like that for me, unfortunately. It's annoying and frustrating.

I love him more than anything, but his unhealthy eating habits rub off on me and I put on weight because of it. I don't want to blame him, it's not his fault. He just doesn't understand why losing weight is so difficult for me.

Sincerely,
Sick and tired of my boyfriend being skinnier than I am

*hugs* that is hard, but remember, food is fuel and nourishment for your body. Exercise can keep you looking good on the outside, but what's inside also matters. This is why that every personal trainer that I have spoken to recommends a regime that includes BOTH a healthy diet and exercise.

My hubby is the same..he has a big bag of PB cups in his truck all the time (they don't melt in Wisc.) and my dgt. works at Dairy Queen and is always bringing stuff home! I do notice that once you hit your target weight you can eat what you want and exercise to keep it off...it only take a little to satisfy me now so the body does change and adjust...plus the better choices that I am making helps me role model for them!

Thanks. I'm excited to start working out again. I've always been a regular tennis player so I'm going to do that and daily cardio.

I am actually smaller than my boyfriend, but I know how you feel because everyone else I know is skinnier than me.

My friend can eat WHATEVER she wants! It's so frustrating. It took everything I could do to not punch her when she was almost in tears for getting up to a size EIGHT. I would be ecstatic if I woke up one day and fit into a size eight!!

Well, I think we all have those friends...the ones who are tiny and stare into a mirror and say they're "so fat".
I wear a size 10 right now, and while it's frustrating for me to be in the double-digits, I try not to complain about it to others just because I know some have it worse than me. I do, however, sometimes want to slap some sense into my size 4 best friend who complains about not having abs any more.

i have the same issue with my husband. He can eat alot of junk (he doesnt eat often), and be relatively thin. I merely look at a donut and i gain 6lbs. Even with exercise =p

but in my house, i've always been a short order cook. I've taught myself not to taste test what i make him, or steal little bites. Sometimes i'll lapse, but i've definitely cut back on it.

Luckily for me i have a very supportive boyfriend who has been trying to follow the points for weight watchers with me. We worked out his points on my calculator and got his proper values, its great. He likes to eat nachos and cookies and stuff, i just tell him to eat what ever he wants in moderation (to keep him happy - since he really doesnt need to lose any at all, he does it for me). Overall, we are much happier and healthier for our food choices and its nice cause it forces me to bring healthier food home. Now, i can easily just sit and have popcorn while he has a plate of nachos and it doesnt bug me. It used to be torturous. (nachos are my favorite food).

I'm struggling with the same thing!
My husband was away for army training and while he was gone I lost about 30 lbs. Now that we are living in the same house again, it's been so hard eating healthy!
