I have created a couple different accounts using my phone's app section for a calorie counter/exercise diary. While it is extremely helpful in determining how many nutrients are in any given food, I was curious to know how many others actually find them to be of benefit and which ones you use.
I use Mynetdiary. I LOVE it. I also have Lose It, but I found Lose It to be lacking in their foods. I keep track of everything there. I have it on my phone, ipad and online, so I can put in my stuff whenever I eat, exercise, etc.
I have My Fitness Pal and Lose It on my ipod touch. I like having MFP because it's what I use on my computer, but I also use Lose It for when I don't have an internet connection to be able to add stuff in there for later.
MFP here too, tried all the free ones and it is by far the best. It takes me about 3 minutes to enter in my day. I love that it has every food I eat and special entries for canadian foods.
I looked at buying the livestrong app because I like the website. But for $2.99 the reviews were not that great, MFP had better reviews.
As far as scanning foods, I never have the packages to scan it - so that isn't really an important features. Plus most things I eat don't have bar codes to scan...
The friend option is super cool too! The app is also very clean and finished looking, I find a lot of them clunky and big and gross. (I am a web designer though, so looks matter to me a lot.)
WoW!
What a popular app!!
I googled MFP and the scanner option is only for the droids as far as I can tell thus far
Maybe an update will prove a scanner in the future for the rest of us!!
