Default Newbie here!

Hi! Just signed up to the 3 Fat Chicks...didn't even know it existed before. I have been working on diet since Jan 1 of this year and it is one of the hardest thing I have ever done! I was always able to eat whatever without gaining weight until the last 3 years. I gained 52 lbs at my new and very stressful job. I'm a tall 5'2.5"...lol and was up to 184lbs on Jan 1. Joined a "Biggest Loser" competition at work and signed up to run a half marathon with my husband. Ya gotta know, I'v never run before now either and I am 56 years old. After shin splints, tightened achilles, plantar fascisitis, and knees that throb enough to wake me at night, I have downsized to just trying to make it the 5K-running, walking, crawling or whatever. I've now got orthodics in my shoes and am taking a 5 day steroid treatment to hopefully eliminate the heel pain. Meanwhile, my hubby is running about 20 miles/week and ready to run the Half on April 17th. Happy as I am for him, his success has made me even more discouraged by my maladies.
The good news is that I am falling in love with peanut butter on apples slices;
plain tuna with lil carrots and olives; chocolate protein shake mix in my coffee with lots of ice! So far have lost 14lbs and I feel somewhat thinner but it is a struggle.
Hope I can get some encouragement, words of wisdom, and friendship!

Mmm That plain tuna with carrots and olives sounds good to me! Will have to try that! You're doing good. Never give up!

I read somewhere that the big green olive stuffed with a garlic sliver is supposed to burn belly fat. I have seen some improvement...belly is where I carry my weight...feel bloating on days I don't eat 2-4 of them!
Motivated or not too bright? whatever works, eh!
Thanks for the kind works, MrsCLS and hatgirlie!
