Hi, I am new to this group. I grew up in the suburbs of the DC area, was overweight until I was 18, then I started running and going to the gym. I was fit up to my forties, when I started to gain weight. Then we moved down to a rural area, my parents got ill and passed away, then my husband got cancer he almost didn't make it, he was in the ICU for 2 months. Then after my parents died my family and I had to deal with the estate, which just about destroyed our family. I used to be close to my siblings now I am only close to my sister. I've also had a lot of issues with my husband, with basically no one to talk to, no support. That’s why over the last ten years I've put on 40 lbs. To me these aren't excuses, they are facts. I think I have finally realized that gaining weight is mostly emotional, plus you need somewhere to go to work out. Luckily after ten years they have finally opened a gym here, and I have this place (3 Fat Chicks on a Diet), so I am on my way to a healthier lifestyle.
I wish everyone lots of luck!
