Default Hey everyone!

Hey everyone! I don't really know what to say...

I grew up thin. I was one of those girls who ate a ton & never gained a pound. Well, that's changing.

I'm still used to eating a lot. It's like a hobby. I just enjoy eating. I've been gaining weight & losing confidence. I stopped showing any skin, I'm getting "cheese" in my legs & arms... I don't know what to do.

I joined a gym, but have no desire to go (I have asthma, so aerobics is difficult).

I've tried to eat better, but I just crave the things I "can't" have. The harder I try, the more I want the bad stuff.

I don't know what to do. =( I never thought I'd ever be addicted to anything. Food? Really? What is my problem?

Hello agra! Welcome, im new here too.

I think what you are feeling is normal. It is difficult for anyone to change their way of eating and stick to it. What always helps me stay on track is going to the gym, even if its just to walk on the treadmill or lift some weights. It motivates me to stay on track for the rest of the day. Oce you get into a routine, each day it will get a bit easier to get yourself moving. Also, if you find that you keep messing up with your food intake, try to figure out what triggers you to go for these foods and see if you can't find ways to counteract a binge (i.e. not depriving yuorself so much that you break or finding lots of healthy snacks that you actually really like)

Best of luck and I will see you around!

Well wanting to change is just the first step in a long journey. Do a little research and find a meal plan that you can live with and that provides you with all the nutrients you need. Part of the cravings are psychological but part of them is simply withdrawals from things like sugar and caffeine and a lack of nutrients. When you first start you'll definitely want to take a multivitamin and drink plenty of water. If aerobics are too hard for you then don't do them. Go for a walk, take a dip in the pool, try yoga or tai chi. Whatever you decide on you'll definitely want to incorporate strength training. Just do what you can and don't worry about messing up we all struggle in the beginning!

If you want an idea of what sort of foods you should be eating here is a look at one of the meal plans I used to get started:
Breakfast
-----------
1 egg omelette with veggies

Snack
-----------
1 cup plan nonfat yogurt with sliced up fruit and milled flaxseed

Lunch
-----------
a large salad with 1 oz of lean protein (chicken, fish or pork), beats, and artichoke

Snack
-----------
a piece of fruit

Dinner
-----------
Half a skinless chicken breast or porkchop w/ brocolli or cauliflower

Dessert
-----------
your choice under 200 calories
