Hi everyone!
I just joined today (tonight really) and thought I'd take a few minutes to introduce myself. My name is Brooke, I'm 28, and a second grade teacher. I joined because I am determined to lose weight! I've struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I would see those skinny girls on TV and think "Ugh...it just isn't fair!" Now, I've accepted the fact that I don't have a metabolism that will allow me to eat whatever I want and not gain a pound. I've also realized that I don't need to diet so much as completely change my lifestyle. When I think of the word "diet", it makes me want to go to the kitchen and eat everything in sight. So from now on, I refuse to think of what I will be doing as dieting. I'm going to be changing my eating habits and losing weight in the process!
Anyways, I've ordered the Food Lovers for Life program and plan to begin the 6 day detox that came with it in the morning. I'm excited about the premise of the program but nervous about the detox. I've never done a detox before and the 6 day plan sounds a lot like that ugly "d" word. Has anyone tried it before? Know anything about it?
Well, I look forward to losing weight and getting to know all of you! I'll try to keep you posted on the results of the detox thing....
