Good morning from the snowy Northeast, again! It's the return of winter and with a vengeance. We are both home today hibernating. As long as the power stays on I've got plenty of work to do. So the exciting news is that after 8 long months DW has a new job and she is very excited about it! She starts next week and it seems like a really good fit for her, a field she likes but with a new twist. It's also just 29 hours a week so plenty of time for her online class, web design, photography and other projects. If things are going well there I'm definitely backing down to 4 days/week after the legislative session ends. I want three day weekends this summer!
Now I just need more coffee but I'll be in and out all day, as long as the power stays on How is your Friday shaping up?
Good morning Cyndi! Congrats to the DW on her new job, and it sounds like it works out fabulously for you too!! Unfortunately, we are right below the line, so all we got was rain . 20 miles north of us is ice, then snow. We would've gotten a ton! It's funny, all this snow, and we haven't had a good snow yet. Darned it! (should I go visit you?)
I work the later shift today (2-7), so I have lots of time to get a good work out in, and clean up. Unless I find some good excuse not to clean!
I had a raving appetite yesterday. I don't know if it's from the workouts, or from the thinwiches yesterday (they have small amounts of sugar in them, but the bread tastes sweet to me). I stuck to beachy foods yesterday, but probably too many calories! I'm okay with that, since I haven't had any off plan foods this week.
Unfortunately this is my Thursday, since I work tomorrow. But I'll make the most of it! Have a great day chicks!
Cyndi, congratulations to Julie! I hope the new job works out wonderfully for both of you. The TV says it just started snowing in southern Maine but it hasn't started here yet. It's supposed to stay all snow for us, (10 - 14 inches) but we'll see. This has been a tough year for the forecasters, I'm hoping their estimates are high today. LOL
Twynn, I'm sorry you didn't get the snow you were hoping for, but at least you didn't get the ice! *shudder* I'm not sure whether I should wish you luck in getting your cleaning in before work or if I should wish you luck finding something more interesting to do instead of cleaning... I know which I'd rather for myself.
I had such a nice time with my mom all week but it sure felt good to sleep in my own bed and wake up in my own house this morning. I'm looking forward to hitting the treadmill and probably making time to play on the wii today, too. It's my last official day of vacation so I want to make the most of it. One thing I'm not looking forward to is "my own scale". I'll weigh myself before my shower as I always do but it may not be pretty. I ate way too much all week. I sure had a good time though, so whatever the scale reads today it was worth it.
It's snowing here, too, but not too hard. Rudi and I are both keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't add up. My sis and I travelled last eve and I'm back over on the East side with the family. We're headed to Boulder today for shopping and taking my bike in to fix the flat.
Cyndi, congrats! to DW! Yay! I hope your power stays on.
Twynn, I'm like Heidi, wondering if you might find something more fun than cleaning.
Heidi, glad you had a safe trip home...just in time for the weekend!
Ok, I'm headed back to bed for an hour then I'll make my list.
Hi all,
First, Cyndi - congrats and can I just say HOW NICE that you have the possibility of making your own schedule this summer. Wish I had that option, even if it meant giving up some pay! A four day week would be perfect for me.
So, I lost .2 lb. from last week, but at least I've left the 160's again. As I said before, Goodbye February, here's your hat, what's your hurry. In any case, time to move forward to marvelous March. We were supposed to go away today but it got put off to tomorrow, so I have some time at home with my son to do some errands and take him to the Transit Museum for a craft program this afternoon. I finished all my fridge leftovers so I'll be scrounging for breakfast and lunch, but think I'll make spagetti squash casserole for dinner mmmmmmm.
Good morning. I still haven't re-established my routines, and I feel like everything is hit or miss. I do seem to be on track right now, healthwise, though a friend commented that I'm not as militant about my diet as I was before dad died. Hah. Since we'd been pretty well on phase 1.25 for four months, it was probably time to move on to phase 1.75, right?
Good morning! It's just rain here, and I'm not about to complain. We've had more than our share of snow here in SE Pennsylvania this winter!
Cyndi, big CONGRATULATIONS to Julie on her new job! I'm sure it's a big relief to both of you and I hope it's a job she enjoys! Enjoy your day of hibernating, and I hope your power stays on!
Twynn, I was wondering whether you'd get snow or rain from this storm. I believe we got all your snow this year, as we usually get a lot less than where you live. Have a productive morning getting your cleaning done! At least the kids won't be home to hinder you.
Heidi, that's a lot of snow predicted, and for your sake I hope the weather people are wrong in their estimates. Enjoy your last official day of vacation!
I've had my shower but I put my cozy jammies back on and think I'm going to stay in them most of the morning. It's raining cats and dogs and is dark and gloomy outside, so it's a good morning to just curl up under a quilt on the sofa and be lazy. I told my parents I'd take them out to shop for a new cell phone this afternoon, so I guess I'll have to get dressed for that.
Good morning everyone! Luckily we're just getting rain this time here in Connecticut, but still it's not making it pleasant to get outside. I fit in a whole hour on the treadmill yesterday and I'm feeling good today. We went out to dinner for my son's birthday yesterday, and I didn't eat anything off plan! Oh ya, I gave in and weighed myself...down 5 pounds in less than 2 weeks!

Cyndi - Congrats to DW. Fingers crossed for your electricitiy.
Twynn - I really struggle with bread, love those thin things too much.
Heidi - Glad you had such a nice time with your mom. I enjoy mine in small doses.
Debbie - I love Boulder! Fortunately by DH repairs my flats for me; I'm afraid to ride without him.
Matilda - Yum. I'm ready for March too. And spring.
Annie - But how do YOU feel about your eating?
Linda - I've actually gone to the store in my PJ bottoms before! But I don't sleep in them, just "lounge."
Nicole - Good for you! I always feel great after I put in a long workout too. Kudos for eating out OP.
Today is a big day for me... 6 weeks post surgery... so I am considered all healed and can now get back to full exercise! I'm off for my old weekly workouts with my mom and trainer. I expect to be very sore tomorrow.
Hello all! I had a busy morning...one of those errands-should-count-for-exercise kind of days! Lukas and I hit the post office, BX, library, and commissary and then met Tom at a Mexican restaurant for lunch. I had the freshest and most delicious salad and was very proud of myself. Now I'm behind on laundry for the day but it'll be finished before bed.
Cyndi, sounds like great news all around for you guys! Hope your power stays on!
Tammy, hope you get everything done you'd like!
Heidi, glad you made it home safely! Enjoy your last day of vacation!
Debbie, have a fun day!
Matilda, have a great time at the museum!
Annie, good to see you check in! I hope your routine falls into place for you soon.
Linda, enjoy your jammie time!
Nicole, congrats on the loss and the will power at the restaurant!
Karen, I can't believe it's been six weeks! Have a great workout!
I'm typing one-handed while nursing the wee one and it's taking forever, so I will sign off here. Be back later for dinner ideas.

It is a snowy morning here. Hopefully, my drive won't be to bad. It came down hard and furious last night for about an hour.
Our kitchen sink is backed up and we are not sure why. We have tried all of the usual stuff to unclog it. My dad will head over here today to look at it. He is also our landlord, so it is his call about the plumber.
My uncle is stable. The next step is for him to respond to verbal commands, like "wiggle your toes". Once he does this they will take him off the respirator.
Just a quickie. I slept until just before eight and have been treating my low bloodsugar with Food Porn. I'd forgotten how good natural honey tasted but it actually has given me a bit of nausea!
I'll be back to read later. I have to get those T4 forms into today's mail. (T4s are record of income and deductions for frassing taxes. My staff need them so they can file and get refunds.) I've not even looked at my own tax reports!
Cyndi, that is great that Julie got a job, whewhoo!!!
Tammy, I am still tackling laundry from going away this past weekend the pile doesn't seem to get smaller.
Heidi, we got an inch of snow after tons of rain, my poor basement is wet- running the dehumidifier to get rid of.
Debbie, have a fun in Boulder.
Matilda, enjoy your time with DS.
Annie, 1.75 is good
Linda, I wish I could have stayed at home in my jammies today!
Nicole, congratulations on losing 5 lbs.
Karen, yeah for full exercise.
Kara, yes you got your exercise in doing errands
Tanner'smom- hope your sink is a quick fix.
Ruth- We already filed our Federal taxes and I did Missouri taxes but I have not filed Illinois taxes yet, as I do it the old fashioned way and mail it in, since I don't normally owe them or get a refund from them since I work in Missouri but live in Illinois, plus they don't have the paper forms done yet!!!
I am so happy it is Friday, I was dragging my behind this morning, didn't want to get out of bed, didn't want to exercise and didn't want to drive into work and have a major allergy headache, but I forced myself to do it all and took an allergy pill and feel so much better now, but I am glad it's Friday. I think we are going to take DD2 to see the Justin Bieber movie tonight.
Jasmine, such great news about your uncle! I hope your dad can fix the sink problem easily.
Ruth, it would have been fun if we could have met up at the post office!
Rose, have fun at the movies! Justin Bieber came on the radio the other day and Avery (4 years old) said, "What is that girl singing about?" and I nearly lost it. Guess my girls aren't in on the Bieber Fever. LOL I actually saw him on Saturday Night Live and on the Letterman show and was impressed with how well he handled himself both times. I don't think I'll be buying any of his CDs or seeing his movie, though.
Looks like Tom has to work late again so I'm just going to heat up leftover lasagna for dinner. Lukas just fell asleep so now I "get" to fold the laundry.
