Exclamation New and looking for encouragement along the way!

Hi all! I'm 25 and pretty much have a whole person to lose. I'm getting married in a little over a year and when I went and tried on dresses with my mom a few weeks ago I was not happy with who was looking at me in the mirror. I started eating better, and have lost 3 lbs since last week. I can't start working out more until I get cleared by doctor the 2nd week in March. Just looking for support and motivation on this wonderful journey to the new me!

Talking Excited!

Definitely hope we can help eachother! I'm waiting in line at the bank now. Then going across the street to the gym, plan to do 45 min or cardio. Had a Greek you're with some granola on my way here so I'm not working out on an empty stomach. I read somewhere you should eat something 30 min before working out. So I'll see how it works! How was your day? How much weight do you want to lose?

Thanks WhoKnew! Welcome to you as well! Hopefully as we go along with this journey we can all help eachother. I went to the gym before work and did 30 min cardio and some lifting. Then realized I had to shower and get ready for work hahaha. So that's where I was and quickly finished up and showered and got dressed for work. I work midnights so everything I do is backwards hahaha. Eating wise I've been good today, had Chobani yogurt fat free with some granola before working out, and then after workout I had a protein bar. I'm trying to increase my protein and not eat as many carbs. Hope all is well!

Thanks murplehaze! Sounds like you're on the right track! I'm trying hard to really get going on this losing weight thing. I lack motivation at times. Funny- at 25ish when I weighed all of 110, I thought I was fat. And it took a few years of me being 175+ to finally see that I was overweight. I think I must have a very distorted self image... so I'll be happy to help you along the way and lean on you when I'm ready to give up

There is no giving up. Yeah sure we all fall off the wagon here and there, it's coming back that makes us winners. How many times have I gone to a party where I ate something (or alot of somethings) I shouldn't have. The problem most people have is they let it completely de-rail the good they've done thus far. What I do now, is instead of beating myself up over it and ending up quitting what I started. I realize where I went wrong, and just get up and keep going. The worst thing I could do for myself is not keep going. If I give up...what else is there?

sorry for my lack of response. i agree, there is no "giving up" option! tonight i let myself really eat- we went out for dinner- and i have been good all week. i'm sure when i step on that scale tomorrow morning, i'm going to be sorry! hope all is well with you!
